My friend and I decided to hit Cedar Point this weekend. We knew fully well it'd be crowded (good weather forecast on a weekend in July?), but we weren't prepared for HOW crowded. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
We left Friday morning from Pittsburgh, and stopped at Six Flags Ohio on the way out. I have a season pass for SFO, and Alan had never been there. The crowds were pretty light. Weather was spotty -- when we got to the park we were warned that most rides were down due to the possibility of lightning. Eventually things cleared up, though.
First we hit Superman. Interestingly, this was one of the first rides to open, even while it was still a bit cloudy. I was surprised -- one of the tallest structures in the park, steel at that, and it was one of the first to open? Ah well. We took 2 cycles, front and back. This ride is still a rush...
Over to Mind Eraser, not running yet. Big Dipper? Nope. Quick lunch at the Subway? Ok. Mind Eraser opened after we were done eating, so we hit that next.
Over to Batman. Fairly short line. Some clouds started moving in while we were in line. Hmmm. We get on, and get dispatched into a DOWNPOUR. It stings! It stings! Actually, I personally liked it, but I also like high-pressure showers ;)
Ironically enough, the rain passes when we get off. This would be the only time all day we got stuck in the rain, and it was while on a ride...
Off to Wolf Bobs, aka Mean Streak Jr. Shuffle shuffle screech screech. Ok, but it wouldn't be worth any serious wait IMHO.
Back to Batman for 2 more cycles. I REALLY like this coaster.
Villain was still down. Too bad, it's a GREAT coaster. I told Alan he has to come back to ride this ;)

And that's IT. Over twice the time in the park as Friday night, and the same number of "rides"! (And that was with Ticket to Ride working in our favor for MF!)
We rode Raptor first thing because it was running early, and we waited "only" 30 minutes for it. I was thinking it might have been better to go to the back and work our way forward, but this was the right call as it turned out. Raptor was over an hour the rest of the day, at least when we were in the general area.
When we got off Raptor, Blue Streak was running, so we hit it real quick.
After that, it was TTR line, lunch, MF twice, then Mean Streak, Gemini 3x, and IMAX. We even passed on the MAGNUM (1.5 hrs when we walked by)!
The crowd was HUGE. I can't remember the last time I saw the park this crowded. It was FAR worse than CoasterMania! Then again, this is the first time I've gotten a season pass in like 5 years ;)
Overall we had a great time. That was a lot of riding for 2 days, considering it was a weekend in July. Six Flags Ohio was worth the stopover, and Cedar Point on Friday night was just GREAT. Saturday was crowded, but we made the best of it.
