If this weekend is any clue on how the rest of the season is going to be I can't wait!
The cast of characters in this trip were CB's own Shivering Tim (scott short) my girlfriend Maria, GTTP mainstay Brandon Sorc and I.
Now this trip has become an annual event for me and this is the third year I have done it with Scott. We left Streetsboro around 2pm on Friday and we made it to Williamsburg around 10.
Saturday morning we got to the park around 9:00 and when the parking gates opened we went to the ticket booths and bought our tickets and got in line at the main gates.
When the gates opened we made a walk over to the Loch Ness Monster and waited about 20 minutes in the line for the ride to open. Its seemed like the ride wasn't going to open soon so we hoped on the train and went over to Apollo. Low and behold we were the first ones in line because the train blocked the crowd enterting the area.
Apollo: We got about 6 or 8 rides total for the day on Apollo we got on one of the first trains in the morning, it was very cold and the ride was running a bit sluggish, but overall for the entire day it wasn't running too bad. I still say it would be my favorite hyper if it wasn't for Magnum.
Alpenguist: Now over the past two years of riding Apli I was never really impressed with the ride. I just thought it was an oversided B&M inverted. I just figured it was becuse I always rode it at the beining of the season and never got to ride it and its peak performance during the summer. Today was an exception because Alpi was running AWESOME. I just want to thank God that the mid course breaks were on heavy. The first half of the ride was simply insane, it was running great. Total for the day we got about 4 rides in!
Wild Mouse: Great ride. I love it and wish I had a mouse at home at CP! Fear the five!
Big Bad Wolf: Always a favorite of mine and we got about 3 rides on the ride. It was running great and it really makes me dislike Iron Dragon more and more.
Loch Ness Monster: The ride was a typical arrow, I hope someday I can ride it on three day operation to experience both trains in the loops. Got two quick rides and was disappointed that the light in the tunnerl was off.
Escape from Pompe: Now this was up there as one of the top five funniest happenings of the trip. Now Maria really wanted to ride all of the water rides and I reluctatnly decided to ride it due to the weather but I always wanted to ride it. Now Maria and I rode in the back seat and we basically walked off dry. When we met up with Brandon and Scott after the ride they were surprised to see us dry. After talking to them for a few seconds we talked them in to riding again. As walking through the queue Scott was quick to note that the water level was low and we should walk off dry. The four of us entered the train in the front seat. We enjoyed the ride and then we were at the top of the lift ready for the splashdown. At the bottom of the drop we got SOAKED. Scott got it the worse, and for 15 minutes I could not stop laughing. We were laughing so hard, Scott and Brandon were so sure we would walk off dry!
Skee Ball: Now if I see a skee ball table somewhere I have to play. Now there were threee odd things about Skee Ball at BGW. The first odd thing was that it cost $1 to play! Second they had animals on top of the net so it was hard to bounce the balls off the net. The third odd thing was that we get 6 balls instead of 9 balls. Now the key to this story is that the guy giving out change has one foot in the grave and was complaining about the weather. So already he seemed to be in a bad mood. On my first game I had a high enough score to win a prize. The guy didn't belive me, and once he saw my score he told me to run up the table and take the prize I wanted. So I took the prize that was on the table I was playing on and I decided to play again. Once again I won again, this time I got the same score I had in the last game. The guy didn't beleive that I played another game, but Brandon and Maria told him I did. So I asked him if I could walk up the table and take my prize. He said yes and then he turned to Brandon and gave him the quote of the weekend "go ahead take one, ahh hell there not mine take what you want."
All in all it was a great day in the park, we walked through the valley four times and we also took at Rhine River Boat Tour. Also Jeff and Tim would be proud of me as I bought an actual BEER in the Irish pub.

Beer? You mean not girl beer like Mike's Lemonade or Zima? What is this world coming to?
How was the river boat tour? That's one of a hundred things I still haven't done (along with the way-cool sky ride, among others).
I love BGW, and unlike Dan, I'm not too much of a fan boy to think Magnum is better than Apollo. ;) I was hoping to visit this weekend since I'll be in Baltimore for a volleyball tourney, but sadly, now that I'm employed, I can't just take off. Working is so over-rated!
Still, Steph and I hope to visit on a weekender or something since we have Platinum passes from last year.

Ohh yeah I forgot we did the sky ride too, the river tour was great, the problem was the battery for my camera died and I didn't have an extra so we put the cameras back in the car. Sure enough a train went through the BBW drop as we went past it and we could of gotten some great Apollo shots.
Yes, Jeff it was a beer Scott, Brandon and Ria can attest to it.

Yes, Dan drank a beer. Freaked me out as well. But probably not as much as I freaked Dan out when I was drinking one.
I have a couple very simple rules when it comes to water rides. Don't ride any sort of water ride unless it's 70 or higher, and never ride a shoot-the-chutes. Well, I broke both of those rules on Pompeii and I paid for it. Luckily it wasn't all that bad of a soaking. More like CP's White Water Landing with the waterfall as opposed to something like Hersheypark's Tidal Force.

I love Pompeii. One of my favorite water rides, even though it is pretty simple. If Journey to Atlantis had stuff blowing up, I'd like it better (or a bucket of softballs to hurls at the creatures in the ride), but until then, I stick with Pompeii.
Of course, the mother ride is still the Jurassic Park River Ride at IOA.
All this beer drinking... we might need a Dave & Busters replay before too long! :)

Well what else can I say? Dan very accurately summed up our trip. It has been about 15 years since I last visited BGW and I am still as impressed as I was the first time I visited the park. The way the landscaping is utilized there is incredible!
Yes, it is true both Dan and Scott were drinking beer! I was floored! Whats next???
Hookers?
