That was pretty cool though, I liked that helix at the end. It did seem like it went faster than it looked like it should've, but that might have been just the long trains or some video effects.

Even though it's very expensive, even compared to K'nex, some it looks very impressive.
It looks like quite a bit of my grant money this year will go towards the purchase of these interesting sets. (I intend to use the monorail to connect between the worlds that we build)
Any thoughts?

Because models are to scale and gravity doesn't scale. For example a model may be 1/20th scale or 1/12th scale or whatever, but gravity is always on a 1:1 ratio with no exceptions.
You'll never be able to make a model that travels at a 'realistic' pace.
