Town considers closing road for Lake Compounce expansion

The town might close the short section of Mount Vernon Road that passes Lake Compounce to accommodate the amusement park's expansion plans. Lake Compounce wanted to relocate that section of road and was counting on a $3.3 million state grant to help.

I really hope they do close that part of the road....and I drive on it every day. LC really needs the expansion. That waterpark is packed on summer weekends. Closing the road instead of moving it would allow easier access to the 100 acres that the park owns on the other side of Mt Vernon Rd.
