Tower of Doom-the 3 towers

As many SFA-goers know, ToD has only run two towers for the last several years. Well, imagine my surprise today (8/24) when I saw all three running with people onboard! Apparently, they finally got whatever problem they were having with it fixed (rumored to be computer-related). Maintenance was still working on putting the Alpine Bobs back together.

Sometimes one side will close due to winds, at least thats the way it is with the one at SFEG.

TOD at SFA has only run 2 sides for many years, even in a dead calm. It is also a much earlier generation of the Intamin free fall ride.

I wish Darien Lake would get a freefall tower. I actually like the Intamin 2nd generation. What I find funny is they seem less complicated in design then the first generation, not to mention more effective as far as thrills go.

If only it were that easy,I'd take TOD down,box it up & ship it to SFDL for you myself if I could.

In it's place I'd add a 200ft tall clone of acrophobia,or an S&S tower combo but as for TOD itself it's just so outdated compared to what's on the market now & even with all three sides running (like we know that's not gonna last long) it's just not worth ridiing as much anymore,especially once you've ridden PKD's DZ.

Intamin Fan, I saw the same thing today. Guess what, on the side closest to Two Face, the pulley was stuck at the top by 12:15. Not sure if it stated again or not. Pehaps the power outage on Saturday night fixed the computer problem.
