Tourism official suggests hope for Cypress Gardens

While Cypress Gardens owners Brian Philpot and Rob Harper haven't made any sort of announcements about the park's future, there are indications some positive activity is taking place. Mark Jackson, executive director of Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing, hinted Tuesday that something positive could happen before the end of the year.

Not to be overly cynical (hey, it's a gift)...but isn't it Mr. Jackson's job to express optimism for the local economy...and by extension, Cypress?
