I lwas at the IX Center in Cleveland at the international auto show and when I came out the storm was just entering the area and I swear the wind was just terrible! If anyone's familier with the IX Center, the parking lot was pakced and we had to walk all the way to our car which was two rows from the back. There were 60,000 people in the Cleveland Area that were out of power last night. The wind in Grove City (near columbus) reached 84 MPH!

Sept. 11th 2001, Slayer released God Hates Us All. The song "Disciple" uncannily describes the events of that day, as well as the anthrax letters that followed.

The last two days were pretty rough on the North Coast. I was fairly alarmed and had a hard time sleeping, because I've never heard my house creak like it did (it's less than a year old).
Conditions weren't right for a tornado, as best I could tell.

WARNING: Weather discussion ahead:
Here in Arizona, tornados are EXTREMELY rare. But we do have micro-bursts somewhat frequently during the summer monsoon season. What is a micro-burst and how does it differ from a tornado? Glad you asked.
A tornado is formed when barometric disturbances cause energy to compress winds in a circular motion, thus the "funnel" is created (mostly visible from the debris it carries) and becomes a tornado once the funnel touches the ground, where it is capable of doing damage to the surrounding property.
A micro-burst is very much similar, but consists of STRAIGHT-LINE winds that shoot down from the sky and curl up after hitting the ground. The damage caused by these micro-bursts is very much the same as a tornado, but the destruction is laid out in a uniform manner (trees all fall the same direction, walls topple the same way, etc.).
What specifically causes a microburst to form or a tornado?? I dont know.

Hey thats awesome. Both me and SWIMDEJ live in McDonald. We've ridden our bikes to Niles before. Where do you live in Niles B&M TYCOON, is it close to McDonald at all? I was wondering if there were any other coaster enthusiasts that live near me (Other than SWIMDEJ.)

Millennium Force......It has its ups and downs.
Well, I live right by Lansing, MI and Saturday the winds were horrible, as mosts posts tell, but there were trees uprooted everywhere, I swear, EVERY house around my area had shingles ripped off, and a tree fell right into the roof of a house, completely destroyed it.
People around here still don't have power, and won't get it back until Tuesday, which really sucks.
