Since aerodynamic drag is a function of the square of the velocity, wind has a dramatic effect on the drag on a coaster. Traveling head on into a 30 mph wind the aerodynamic drag for TTC would be increase 56%. Traveling at an angle to the wind can be even worse since the effective wind comes at an angle to the train causing more turbulence and increasing the drag coefficient.

I've seen the lightning in Miami; it's no joke. Is it really worse further north?
