Top Ten Coasters 2002

Our fine cable folks are at it again! Upon returning from Old Town, Busch Gardens Tampa, IoA, Universal Studios, we were part of the taping of "The Incredible Hulk" for a new show called Top Ten Coasters 2002. It's interesting how certain rigging is accomplished on trains.

Looks like this was the only coaster that IoA had that finally broke into this list which first was formed by consulting NAPHA. Then updated a year later. As you might know this particular program combines the top 5 steel and top 5 wooden coasters. Of course everyone's top 10 is held in deep regard within each rider's heart :)

Hopefully we can look for it soon!

Yes, they've been around to a number of parks lately. It shouldn't be a mystery about which ones they've been to.

Also, I did speak to a camera man from Telemundo, they were also filming the park today to feature on a new joint network they are launching called "MunDos". Kind of like when "The Box" changed into "MTV | 2".

So all you TV junkies can look forward to adding this to your tape libraries, when the channel will be available.

Coastin Carl, just wondering how you got invited to the taping, ACE membership, IoA passes, what WAS it?  Just curious, our regional rep doesn't seem to get this info. from the FL parks.  It's not EXACTLY a coaster-club-freindly atmosphere here, we've got tourists year 'round (although I'd LOVE to volunteer to help out with an ACE winter event at BGT, IoA/Orlando area if we could get one together).

They were at Knotts not to long ago. Filming boomerang!
Just kidding.
Filming Ghostrider!!
ANyway this looks to be a good show, but it might be a little similar to last years, if it goes by Golden Ticket Awards anyway!

This year they went by their online survey that was compiled during the airing of  the show. They don't want to show the same coasters over and over. Interesting, it was the first coaster show film in HDTV for the Japanese market.

I'm pretty sure it was through the Florida Coaster Club, because I was also invited to that event.  Unfortunately, I was unable to attend :(.

If Viper or Raging Bull are not on that list I will be really disappointed. Although I guess with all the amazing CCIs out there, it will be hard for Viper to crack the list (you could probably do a respectable top 10/5 with CCI coasters alone !). But I really, really see no reason that Raging Bull isn't in the top 5 steel coasters. I can't think of 4 better steel coasters.

Current favorite coasters:
Wooden: 1) Beast 2) Raven 3) Son of Beast 4) The Boss 5) Timber Wolf
Steel: 1) Raging Bull 2) Millennium Force 3) V2 4) Wild Thing 5) Mr. Freeze
Scott: thanks for clearing that up. I was wondering if they were going off the golden ticket awards why they were only @ HW taping Raven not The Legend as well (#5). I guess this makes more sense.
Oh and Joe, while I personally have not ridden a steel coaster I liked more than Raging Bull, I think you best better just plan on being disappointed.

A week ago Tuesday I took part in the filming of the Thunderbolt at Kennywood.  The special will air around next Memorial Day.
I just hope Montu keeps it's spot in the top 5 and doesn't fall past #5.
