Top Gun At PKI Crashes!

Paramounts Kings Islands Top Gun was involved in an accident with a bucket truck during tuesday morning check ups. The train was going through its test runs when it struck the truck, causing the first three cars to derail. They were totalled. Good news is that no one was hurt, but the part of the train that derailed and the truck that were involved are now beyond recognition...here are the pictures of the track where the accident happened. They are covered in tarp:

so some one left a truck in the way of the coaster and the ride os sent the train through ?

This has been posted 3 times now, but until the park makes an official announcement on the crash, it's going nowhere on CB.

I'll go ahead and clear a few things up before this is closed. The accident happened prior to the park opening yesterday. I know no details about the actual accident or how it happened, but the entire Action Zone area of the park was closed for roughly four hours after the park opened. We were told that there was a mechanical "difficulty." Top Gun remains down, and I haven't seen much activity in the area.

Now that's airtime!

Yikes - I guess what those morning track walks and tunnel walks are for. We also had to do them a few times after bad storms to make sure the paths were clear of people, trees, equipment, etc.

Wouldn't it be possible to install some sort of motion sensor, that would give a warning if something was in the way of the coaster path, would seem to me that would be cheaper than an accident of any sort.
There was no way to prevent, that mechanical error, also Face/Off and Congo Falls were open. THE PARK WILL NOT MAKE AN OFFICIAL ANOUNCEMENT ABOUT AN ACCIDENT!!!!! Sorry about the caps, but I have to get my point across, Jeff you need to let this topic happen, I have seen the pics and there is no way they are altered, why else would it be down?

What was the truck doing down there during testing anyway?

I would say some idiot forgot to tag out the ride before he went down there.
