Too tall for Deja Vu-

It would be nearly impossible to design a coaster that would cater to all heights and weights, meaning there will always be minimum heights, maximum heights, and maximum weights/sizes. Some seem a bit ridiculous, like the seat belt sizes on Millenium Force. I'm a size 4 and I've sat in a seat where there was only 3 inches slack on the belt, that just doesn't seem right [should I not even go there since there are many topics on this?]. Since you're just an inch over the limit it probably wouldn't be too hard to slouch and get on anyway [provided you could close the restraint] although it might not be the most comfortable ride ever. I think when designing trains they keep the "average" sized person in mind, which unfortunately singles out really tall people and larger people. *** Edited 9/16/2005 4:52:02 PM UTC by shesaidboom***
Why is it Vekoma/Arrow don't find a way to accomodate taller riders?

I always get backpain from their loopers because I don't fit in... and I'm "only" 6"4.

There is one spot on the Great Nor'easter where the dangling legs of riders come VERY close to the trough for the Zoom Flume. That could be why there's a height limit, even though I have heard of height limits on other SLCs that are nowhere near other rides.

There is no way manufacturers can possibly design rides that seat for people of all kinds of height and weight. If you make seats too big, the smaller, thinner, and less heavy people are put at risk, if you make seats taller (therefore, higher restraint system) to accomodate the 6-foot 5 five inches guests, you put the shorter guests in danger.

Excuese me, But Maure Shone has a restraint system that will hold just about anyone of any size. I got video of Car they made with the restraints and they just basically took people and hung em upside down for almost two minutes. There were people in the car from 5year olds to 400pd men.

Don't tell me you can't

Well, since this thread rapidly dissolved into nothingness...

I'm 5'7" :)
