Tomb Raider Thought

I read over on screamscape, about Huss`s, new line of over sized, high capacity flat rides.  Screamscape says that one (Giant Top Spin) is coming to Paramount`s Kings Island.  On Huss`s website, it says that the ride is an all new type (bigger than the previous version) and it even says Coming in May 2002.  Although, the website has the wrong name if it is indeed going to PKI.  One interesting thing that I found is the height of the Giant Top Spin, would fit into what has been described as the ride building for Tomb Raider as the ride stands about 20 meters or around sixty feet tall.  What do you think?

I read that information on Screamscape as well.  I also went over to Huss's website.

Personally, I think that if that is what Tomb Raider turns out to be, Paramount over publicized it.  Unless Tomb Raider is an incredible dark ride in any form, Tomb Raider will be a huge let down.  Paramount has already overhyped it, so everyone is expected something out of this world.

If Paramount's Kings Island gets the Huss Giant Top Spin, the model with the fire would work perfectly.

Now, if it is just a flat ride, my question is, why has construction already started?????

It is starting to sound like the interactive queue will be more exciting than the ride itself.

You do have a good point as far as the construction.  You also make a good point about if it is a flat ride it is overhyped.  But remember, people were saying that Paramount`s Kings Island needs a current flat ride as their newest one (Flight Commander in `90) is no longer there.  Before that, their newest flat rides were Dodgem, Zephyr and Skylab in `86 and Skylab is gone.  PKI does need a new flat ride and would fit the park great, but I am hoping for something like Spiderman.

Why would PKI say that there is nothing like the ride experience that this ride gives if all it is is an oversized flat ride? It would give the same exact ride as a regular one, only its bigger. Plus, PKI is spending more than what it took for the Action Zone expansion (for all you people who dont know, that would be about 40 Mil) just on this ride, and I doubt all that is going to be on a concrete building with a lot of "eye-candy" just in the queues. Its not a flat ride, it doesnt fit all the requirements (mainly the one about the Action Zone expansion). So just sit back and wait for PKI to wow us once again.

This ride is gonna be the most expensive, themed and emversive ride in PKI history! They have brought in special design teams and have said this will cost a ton! The flat ride in a can would be cool but it's not going to be Tomb Raider! Why would they start construction right now to!? Like PKI Man said, sit back and yet PKI wow us once agian!
I gotta agree Todd - it's PKI's 30 th Birthday, and I know I'd have been pretty disappointed if I'd only gotten a flat ride for my 30th...LOL

I don't know about that. I'd be pretty geeked if I get my own personal flat ride for my 30th birthday. :)

I think we're all missing the point of TR:TR. It's not just a flat ride in a box. I'm imagining it to be something like Poseidon's Fury down at IOA followed by a heavily themed flat ride. It's going to be much more than a spin-n-puke surround by all sorts of strobes and chasers. You could almost consider it two attractions in one: a walk through followed by a ride. Can we wait for construction to complete before we chastise PKI for building a high-priced dark ride?
