Tomb Raider: The Ride cost?

I know this might be a stupid question but does anyone really know how much PKI spent on TR:TR with the theming and all?
I think the figure I heard was $100 million, but I could be off on that, that sounds awfully expensive for a Top Spin, even with all the theming.

Yeah Travio.

Considering PKI built SOB, Drop Zone, Face off, and totally repainted. Top Gun, King Cobra and resurfaced and overhauled the entire Congo area into Action Zone for less than that.

Id say a Hundred million is a little high.

Try maybe 12 million and you would be closer.

Chuck who doesn't know the exact price of TRTR but knows it's not even close to a hundred million.

Seriously, Spiderman at IOA cost that much, and Tomb Raider is no Spiderman.

JEFF! ROFL....agreed, TR:TR is no Spidey...but *nothing* else IS...;)

Seriously, the *good news* is that Spidey was FULLY functional for the trip down Sunday with CPGer Chris and Top Thrill Magster....back up to its $100M price-tag self...:)

OK, so as far as TR:TR is concerned, I think the Giant Top Spin, plain-jane style, would be around 7-8M. PKI went to the effort and expense to make the ride into an *experience*, and for that I commend and applaud them. Definitely the most highly-themed ride outisde of Orlando that I've been on...

The humorous part was people suggesting that PKI would "house" the next Huss Giant ride, which clearly IMO would have detracted from the effort expended on TR:TR...now if we could only get a little more Angelina Jolie for that extra 5M...;)

To be a smart butt :) TR:TR is included with you one day park admission and there is no additional cost to ride TR:TR. :) Sorry, that's what I thought of when I read the thread title.

I thought it was 40 million. everyone thought it would be a coaster because it was so expensive, and when it wasn't people were really surprised.

Now they had better keep it that way!

14 days, 7 hours and 31 minutes.

Maddie....ALL effects were working for the first time in recent memory....

Sorry I can't join you at IoA, I'll be in Idaho...:)

Now back to your regularly-scheduled TR:TR discussion...;)

PKI has never released official information regarding the cost of installing TR:TR. If I had to guess, I would say probably in the $10 Million range.

FYI... PKI never claimed it to be the most expnsive attraction installed at the park. They used to tricky marketing to make it *sound* that way. But if you listened closely, they only stated that it was the most "ambitious" project in the park's 30 year history.

Although "most ambitious" was stated, many enthusiasts interpreted that as "most expensive" and began comparisons to the cost of SOB and FOF... the two most expensive additions ever made to the park.
