Tomb Raider: The Ride

Hi, I'm new. I was wondering that is TR: TR queue line gonna be underground? I know the ride building is on the ground, but I am not sure about the Q being underground.

Nobody knows, really.  My guess is no, but that's just a guess.

Is Tomb Raider the ride supposed to be one of those new Giant Huss Top Spins (set indoors and heavily themed), or is it supposed to be something more high-tech and interactive?

I haven't heard anything about any 'new Giant Huss Top Spins', but it sounds like it will be a indoor-flatride hybrid. Can you give me some info or a pic of the new Top Spins? I know that some Top Spins are smaller and the one like PCW Cliffhanger is one of the larger ones, but are you saying there are bigger ones? Confused here.

I don't think it will be a Top Spin.  For one thing, pki said that you would strap yourself in and try to escape.  Well I don't think you can escape with a top spin, because you have to get on and off at the same place.  That is not escaping.  So I don't think it will be a top spin, but I could be wrong.

TRTR is not going to be underground, but watch the construction carefully. If you see them digging trenches, followed closely by walls being put into place, then it is underground.

Ugh... if they're spending more on this than any other attraction, I seriously doubt it's going to be a Top Spin.

The park also specifically said it is not a coaster.

It has been reported to me that an article on TR:TR recently appeard in Funworld (The IAAPA news magazine) had the following quote "The coaster begins its journey in an ancient temple" As I am not an IAAPA member I can't personally confirm or deny that.

At this stage in the game, I am considering anything said about that ride to be a red herring.  It's pretty clear the park is going WAY out of its way to make sure no one knows what the ride is actually going to be like.

Some other thoughts: The phrase "Strap yourself in" has been used to refer to any number of amusement devices in the past.  Also, if Escape means going to another place, explain Superman:The Escape to me.

Personally, I am in the "Flat Ride in a Box" camp, but I don't think a Top Spin is exactly it.  I was thinking more along the lines of an Inferno.   A certain well respected Buzz member, who I am not identifying to protect the innocent, reminded me that the original project name was Inferno, the Inferno fits the design specifications for the show building, AND there are no other Inferno's in the USA.

That, to me, says what I've believed all along-that PKI hasn't given anything away from the day TR:TR was announced.  This is gonna be big, maybe some sort of motion simulator combined with a flat ride...something NEW!

Well, I don't think it's gonna be an inferno. I have read many times that the ride is not a top scan, top spin, splasover, and it's not even close to those rides.

I am leaning more on a launch/drop ride, but I am not sure.

I also have read that the ride may have track, but it is not a coaster.

See, TRTR

-is not a rollercoaster

-is not a fixed ride

-is not a 3D effect ride

-is not based, or similar to Spiderman

simulator type ride

It's going to be something new.  Beyond that, we know no more than what's already been said.
