Tomb Raider construction pics available from Midwest

The first update to the site all summer yields construction progress of PKI's 2002 attraction. Foundation trenches for the queue and foundation walls for the "ride" building start to appear.

PKI FANATIC, my point in the statement was that its more than one building, not just one.

What

the

hell

don't

you

understand,

it

AINT

a

freaking

coaster!!!!

Sorry about the spaces, I just thought that perhaps this would grab the attention of some of the ignorant people with selective reading that still think it's a coaster.

The way BrandonR describes it, it sounds totally awesome...and it will be. If I'd guess, it sounds kind of like a shorter version of Vertigo with really awesome theming.

It probably isn't, but at least I'm not fixed on thinking it's a coaster...and personally, a topspin sounds even more ludicrous.

WE DONT KNOW WHAT IT IS!!! They're doing this so we fools that aren't involed in the executive division of KI will buy a ticket to check it out. And why not? Whatever it is, it sounds like a new experience to me.

WARNING:JUST OPINION!  I just think it's sooooooo awesome that pki is building something oooothhhhhher than a coaster!  And anyway, a dark ride sounds cool.  I've never riden a dark ride like this one sounds to be, iffffff you don't count phantom's theater in Hanna Barba Land.  So for all you coaster enthusiasts that were anguished and devostated that you didn't get your giga this year,  JUST WAIT!!!!!! PKI will get that giant giga in the next couple years!!!!  So just sit back, relax, and most deffinetly enjoy Tomb Raider and also what's coming up next for pki in the years to come!!!!!  I know I'll being visiting pki untill the day I die, which hopefully, will be for a loooonnnnnnngggg time!
Is it true that you have to be with a child to ride Phantom Theater?  If so, why?
TombRader2002, good for you, I'm very glad you like the announcement of the dark ride at PKI. I'm interested in the ride as well. Hopefully I'll be able to make it down there within a few years.

There are a lot of spoiled people here that will complain until their little fingers get carpal tunnel. They think "they" deserve another coaster. These people know who they are, and they can learn a lesson from your enthusiasm.

Alright, enough is enough, I happen to think that this ride will be a Mondial Top Spin ride refered to as "Splash Over".  This ride is like a Huss Top Spin, but it contains two seperate gondolas that spin on its own, and it contain jet sprays that wet the ride ("lava").  And, when you enter the line to this ride, your in one line, but you are split into two line to enter the gondolas.  Refer to Mondial website at www.mondialrides.com + Paramount Canada's Wonderland has this ride, but its out doors, and its considered the best flat ride to be designed.  This version of the Mondial Top Spin is much bigger than the Huss Top Spin.
maybe the rumor section moved here...
LoL.  It's going to be something completely different.  Why can't we get that through our heads?  How can you think that this ride will be a top spin?  Do you really think KI would spruce up a Top Spin, I don't think so.  Let's just wait and enjoy the new experience coming to KI in 2002.
-----------------
...PKI is spending more on this ride than any in its 30 year history...hmmm...Do you think it's going to be a flat ride? I think not.
so its a walk through experience or a Top Spin ride?........
I am placing my money on a themed water "coaster" ride like splash mountain.

Something like a longer Journey to Atlantis or Escape from Pompeii with effects would be cool.  Even a super Pirates of the Caribbean would be nice as I enjoyed that ride, but from the description it doesn't sound like a water dark ride, because of the "vehicles of escape".  Whatever it is, I doubt this will disappoint.
I'm going with what CPgenius had to say.  For all you people who think it's some type of Huss Top Spin or other flat ride, why don't you people just go visit your local fair and get on one becuase you deffinetly won't find one at pki!!  I mean come onnnnnn, do you really think  on pki's 30th ann. there gonna get a flat ride, PLEASE.  And it even says that it will cost more then the entire Action Zone project.  And that cost $40 million dollors.  So do you reaaalllyyyy think pki is going to spend at THE LEAST, $40 million dollars, even with all the effects, on some flat ride.  Let me put it simply, I THINK NOT!! :)  So just to sum it up, nobody knows what this ride will be, but we can 99.9%  rely that this will most likly not be a flat or top spin fair ride!!  :THIS HAS BEEN JUST MY OPINION:

Finally someone has the voice of reason.
i am pretty sure it will be like hypersonic XLC

Hypersonic XLC is labled COASTER, which throws it out. Although it fits all the requirements (escape vehicle, up to the top of a cave, down to lava pit)

Whatever it may be, I will ride it.  That's all I need to say about that.  And the extra-cool theming will be a bonus!

I think it's sinking, no matter what it is.   :o)

I rode "X" and never went upside down.
Sunday, September 23 I'm visiting Paramounts Kings Island.  I'm making sure I bring a disposable camera to take pictures of TR:TR.  The forcast says the weather is going to be beautiful Sunday so the pictures should turn out pretty well.  Last time I went earlier this year, I got a pretty good view on the ramp of the Beast going up to the loading platform.
