Tom Hanks will play Walt Disney in film about the making of Mary Poppins

For the first time in a dozen years, Disneyland will host crews filming a major movie – this one starring Tom Hanks as Walt Disney himself. Disney will block off parts of the park Nov. 6-7 for "Saving Mr. Banks," which will tell the back story of the making of Disney's 1964 "Mary Poppins" movie.

Hmmm, I am not sure if Tom Hanks would have been my first pick as Disney... I wonder how this movie will go over.

Tom Hanks in a Disney movie is a pretty safe bet, I think.

Too bad Mr. Walley is no longer with us: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0102787/

Saw Tom Hanks last night on Colbert....with the mustache, he doesn't make a bad Walt.

If you are looking for a big name to play Walt Disney, I can't think of anyone better suited than Hanks. Hanks has a higher voice than Disney, but the personality matches pretty well, in my opinion.

Should've gotten Otm Shank instead.

Tom Hanks could portray a black basketball player and still rock it. He is that *awesome*!!

You guys have got it all wrong. Gary Sinise is a way better actor. Sure Hanks has lost and gained weight, raised and lowered his IQ for his characters. But how many actors cut off their own legs for their character? That takes balls. And a saw... and probably novocaine.

I bet this is one film Neil Patrick Harris would love to get cast for.
