The Toledo Blade recently sent a reporter up to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, to check out the off-season activity around the park. While Blue Streak is painted, Wicked Twister gets ready for its first run.

First someone at GTTP and now someone here claims that because they received the Getaway Guide, they know Mantis is not being painted. How would the park map tell you if Mantis was being painted or not? First of all, they most likely aren't going to change the colors even if/when they do paint it and secondly, what color is Wildcat on that Map? I'll bet it's not white! :) Maps lie sometimes.
Having said all that, the last I heard the paintjob for Mantis was on hold, but that was a couple weeks ago and there's no telling if maybe something changed. I'd like to see it happen because last season the whole Mantis area was looking kind of grungy. Not just the ride, but the awnings, fencing, etc were looking pretty sad. I'm sure even if it doesn't happen, there will be numerous small improvements around the park for people to report about on opening day.
