Toboggan

Lets just say last time I was at Lakemont Park with my ex girlfriend was the last time I rode the Skydiver. Maybe thats why shes an ex now. No one else will ride it with me! :(

I actually prefer the Fly-O-Planes over the Rock-O-Planes. There's just somthing about being able to do barrel rolls thats fun.

Come to think of it, if I go on the Zombies trip this year maybe I'll be able to sucker, I mean get someone to go on the Skydiver at Silverwood with me! Muhahahahaha!

I'm game, since I'd probably be without my girlfriend if I took her on a Skydiver with me (she refused a Rock-O-Plane ride with me and was very happy she did once she saw me spinning the tub!)
The best with the Rock-O-Plane is when you get a carnie that jumps, grabs your car, then uses his weight to make you spin. Last time I had a ride like that I couldn't walk straight. :)
Hey Cpunk, That sounds like an awsome time! As for the toboggans I rode one back in the 70's and love them I've been hoping to find one and ride it presently but fear my size won't be compatable with the ride lol. But over all this seems like a good idea to me!!!

..."so many coasters,so little sick time"....
To me they would probably be a little cooler ride if they didn't have that brake all the way down the spiral. Maybe a trim every 2 spirals or somthing.

I think if your a kid they are probably lots of fun since you don't have to worry about your head on the bottom of the drop.

CPunk - FYI, I don't recall any skid brakes on Little AMA's Toboggan. Looked to me like they'd been removed. All I remember is getting faster and faster and faster and thinking I was in for one heck of a beating when the drops came.
And did you get that expected beating?

cpunk, that sounds like a lot of fun. Twisted, dimented fun :) I wish I knew of a carnival that brought a Rock-O-Plane with them!

Actually no, I didn't. I thought LAMA's Toboggan was excellent!
I just wish I had known what to expect at the bottem of that drop. Maybe if I steel myself for it next time I ride one, it won't be so bad. I will say that it was definitely one of the more interesting coasters I've ridden.
Rob, the Gratz Fair near me usually has a Rock-O-Plane. Thats where I got the crazy ride. It's also where I rode my first Tempest last year. Their rides are old and pretty scary looking. Still for $6 to park, get into the fair and wristband for the rides you can't beat it. It's in mid-September a week before the Bloomsburg Fair.

Moosh, did you ride the Toboggan at Lakemont when you were there last year? Thats the only one I've ridden.

The Toboggan at Little A-Merrick-A has a skid brake running all the way down between the rails.

I remember chatting with the operator while waiting for the rain to end when we were there a couple years ago. He was explaining to us that the brakes "don't work well" when wet. He was sending empty cars and timing them, we wouldn't let us ride as long as the car was completing the circuit too quickly.
