Titan opens tomorrow!

I won't be able to ride it until Friday. But I will post and let everyone know how awesome it is.
I will be riding it Friday morning. I'm very excited!

"You are the weakest link...goodbye".
As I write this the REOA reps along with other media will began riding Titan in less than two hours! Lucky bastards!
I'll be riding in one hour! Talk about not getting any sleep. :)
Dweaver the park doesn't open till 2 tomorrow
Yep, 2 pm tomorrow, and you can bet I'll be the first guy through the gates.
Finally - Our first BIG coaster of the year is opening! Keep us posted, I'm headed out there in a Month.

Jimmy... Cut it out... You're grounded!
Titan or bust baby
I had a co worker who was at the park last month shortly afte rit opened and he saw Titan being built. He open his mouth and said he should take a road trip to ride it. Well I beign the coaster nut I am stuck him to his words and now next month 4 or 5 of us from the Maxtor harddrive call center are going to take out all are frustration from help instal drives onthe road and take a road trip to ride Titan.

I can't wait
I had intended to be there today -- RIGHT NOW -- riding, but I couldn't get on some ACE official list. Does anyone know anything about this, and when they advertised it or anything? It kinda makes me mad; the only reason we even knew there was a list was we called the park to check on times. The regional ACE rep. wasn't all that nice about it either. And I'm paying good money to be in that organization...
I'll be hard pressed to sleep tonight, tomorrow's the BIG day! My first ride on TITAN!

I have a friend who actually rode it today, I'll be seeing him later this evening. I can't wait to hear all about his ride(s) on Titan. *** This post was edited by DAN-EL on 4/26/2001. ***

Didn't I tell you that ACE membership isn't a license to attend media events?

List? What list?

*marking down another reason not to join ACE*

"I must not be a coaster enthusiast!
I actually look for the good things in parks & coasters."
Jeff,

Why do you think you know exactly what's going on down there? Did one of the insiders call you and give you the details for the planning and running of the event? You started up with this expert-on-media-day stuff in a previous post and now you're at it again.

Media day was open for ANY ACE member to attend, it's just that you had to let ACE know ahead of time that you'd attend so they could send an official list to SFoT. I was never told of any limit, but just that SFoT wanted to know how many would attend; I assume they might have done that to guard against idiots trying to cheat their way in or something, I don't know. The catch is, this part of the process was never advertised outside the TX region (can't say if it was or not for those in the region). So when I found out I had to be listed it was too late to get my name on, despite my efforts to talk to ACE and SFoT personnel. Hence I could have gone had I known the details -- the ACE rep. told me I should have contacted him a day earlier to get in.

There you have it. Next time someone brings this up you'll know a little more. I know my membership isn't any sort of license for special stuff, but in this case ACE members WERE invited. No offense and sorry this post comes off as being rude, but I don't like people coming out with the "you're wrong" or "I know more" crap when they don't know what they're talking about.

Dude... settle down. I honestly don't give two chicken nuggets about the process, or the politics of getting invited to these things via ACE (you can read all about the "controversy" on RRC if you're that interested). My point stands... you can't just show up for that sort of thing without going through proper channels. The original discussion was about bringing guests and paying to get in, which like I said, wasn't the point of a media day.

I'm not trying to start a pissing contest about who knows more because honestly I have better things to do than play coaster snob Jeopardy. As in the original discussion, I was only sharing how things are. Take it or leave it.

More to the point, my response was geared toward your comment about, "And I'm paying good money to be in that organization." That's where my "license" response comes in.

Jeeze... All I wanted to know was how good the ride is...

How's Titan?
Hmmn...certainly not the response I expected from Jeff. As for your point, you're right in that ACE members aren't entitled to special goodies at parks but I don't see how that's what you meant in the other forum. You're probably right about most media days, but in this case that stuff didn't apply. But I'm just mad because I think I should have been there and didn't know about the fine print stuff. 'Nuff said.

Skyboss, this was carried over from another post by Lothar requesting info about media day. Sorry it ended up here. But hey, Jeff started it! (just kidding, only a joke) :)
All you had to be was in ACE and RSVP to be there for media day. Titan ROCKS!

Army rangers lead the way
I heard that a woman lost conciousness on Titan Thursday. I will be riding Titan tomorrow as the ride was closed for most of the day on Friday. I read a newspaper report that stated "Giovanola has made special modifications to the wheels on Titans trains which will allow it to reach 88 mph, 2 to 3 mph faster than Goliath at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California".

Brother, if that's the case then no wonder people are blacking out. I was disapointed that I couldn't ride today but I'll ride tomorrow for sure!
Titan opened at 6pm yesterday.
