Titan

We tried to go to Six Flags Over Texas today, which was July 25. We stayed over night in Arlington just to beat the rush hour traffic on I-30! Got there and park was open but Titan was closed- supposedly was gonna be closed all day! I was not a happy camper, I have been so pumped to ride Titan, this was the first time this summer we actually got the chance to visit Six Flags. Boo Hoo I wanted to cry- we just drove through the parking lot and came home.We have some tickets- so we figured we would try for tommarow Thursday the 26th! If any one knows why Titan was closed please let me know! I am curios!

Word is that modifications are bieng made to make Titan run smoother without trains getting stuck and such. I live here in Arlington and I can tell you that Titan has been closed all week and could possibly be closed next week as well.

Right now it's anyone's guess as to when Titan will be open again.

TITAN RULES!
Even the park has no idea when it will open again. The heat supposedly is causing the track to expand.
I don't think it's the heat since it's been well over 80 degrees here in Ohio all of last week and things were running fine.

Texas is over 90 degrees for almost 4 months straight. Many days go over 100. That is quite a bit hotter than Ohio.

"X" marks the spot in 2001!
I don't know about Arlington, but where I am in TX it's been over 100 8 days in a row(before that it hadn't been 100 even once this summer). And until about a week ago the entire que for Titan had no cover. Just misters..and that evaporates almost before it leaves the misters.

Also, I heard at SFoT Coasternet that it is open today but it is "NOT THE RIDE IT USED TO BE."

Sad.

Well we made it back to Six Flags Thursday- the 26th! Titan closed in the morning so we rode Mr. Freeze-Giant- Batman, etc.. They tested Titan most of the morning. Well they finally opened it, not sure when, we rode it around 4:15. Seemed to run ok, I know it got stuck once after leaving station before it reached the incline. We rode it three times that day. Had two trains running that day, the wait was only like 45 min- thats if you didn't wan't the front or back. But you know us coaster crazies- we gotta have the best seat in the house- no matter what the wait is!!Love the Titan! Awesome ride! I could ride it all day!!
