Titan

Hey guys!

Titan is coming along nicely in my hometown of Arlington Texas. Hope everyone can come to Texas to ride in April, the new projected open date!
If its half a good as Goliath ... you are in for some REAL fun!

I'll be there, June 4th, 5th, & 11th.

I can't wait!

I'll be there!!! Wildfire is projected to open sometime in early April, so Titan will probably be the second big new coaster I ride. I was hoping it'd be ready by mid-March for spring break because I'll be down there, but I guess I'll have to make a return trip.
I'll be at SFoT May 25th for my first ever visit! I'll then hit the park again May 29th. Can't wait to ride Goliath again! ;)

Millennium is spelled with two N's ;)
Uh oh, now come in the SFOT locals yelling "FOR THE LAST TIME, its not a clone of Goliath! Theres a helix up to the brake run!!" The same people who will then tell people "Goliath is pretty much a clone of Titan"

I consider it a clone, but if it's as good as Goliath, and the upward helix is plenty fast, I'll be the first to say it's better!

What difference does it make? People use the word "clone" like they have advanced degrees in biology.

Ask yourself this: Would you care if an exact duplicate of a coaster a thousand miles away was suddenly built in your backyard?

I didn't think so.

The "clone" thing is no longer an allowable topic on CoasterBuzz.

Good point. By the way, is the first drop tunnelled?
Thank God!!

Yes, the first drop does drop into a tunnel.

(Hmm, it sure would suck having a Millennium Force clone at Kennywood...)

Yeah Kennywood would be broke if they bought a Millennium Force clone, they would get less coasters than they already get. just kidding

Best Coaster: Millennium Force
Worst Coaster: Project Stealth

Isn't it pretty much a clone of Goliath?

coastaluva, TITAN is about 95% the same as GOLIATH. The only difference is the additional helix between the floater hill and trim brakes, a few more small curves and turns in the 2nd half of the course. But other than that, both rides are pretty much the same, even in color scheme and are both labeled after historic giants. And I don't know how people are saying the thing goes 88 mph with a drop of 260 or more when they SFoT barely gave any official information on the ride's statistics other than it goes 85 mph with a 255 drop as Goliath.
Ayiyi, why turn a decent topic into a closed topic?

I know so little about the park, so I wonder if they had the same space constrictions that SFMM had, and thats why the similar layout was taken. Has track hanging gotten anywhere yet?

By the way kraxleridah, both Goliath and Titan have a 88 MPH 255 foot drop. When Goliath made a change to much harder wheels, the speed was changed signicantly. Titan will be opening with those wheels. *** This post was edited by Millennium Force on 2/14/2001. ***
Get used to it people. Clones are a good thing to the GP. Unless you can travel all around the country to ride coasters, and that is of the minority, then this concept is a good idea.

Chi-town makes a good point. The only other alternative to bringing similar coaster experiences to a wide audience of people is the imfamous "Ride Rotation Program", which SFGAm fans are still smarting over.
