Lightning Racer is most excellent, it was a walk on both sides when I went and I rode it over and over. Sooperdooperlooper was closed, but that was fun back in '99. Wildcat is also good and had a minimal wait. Sidewinder was walk-on and decent for a boomerang.
Comet had one of the longer waits of the trip, 30+ mins. I believe.
Overall, don't let the mobs near the water rides fool you, head on over to Midway America where it's less crowded.

Hmm, I don't know, Backstreet Boys aren't that popular anymore. ;)
If only that were the case. Seriously, I just read that their recent theatre/club tour sold out in minutes, so I would say they're still quite popular. I believe the first single did quite well as well. They wouldn't being playing a shed tour if there wasn't enough interest. It would otherwise be financial suicide.
The first thing you should do is whatever your feet take you to after you get there. You'll be there for about TWO whole days. Overplanning causes stress, which may lead to a not-so-exciting time.
Have fun! Hersheypark is wonderful.

where should I go first on Thursday when we get there at 12 or 1?Thanks
My first guess would be the entrance gate. :)
Like the others said, just take your time. If one line looks long, try another and come back later. You'll get plenty of rides in 6-8 hours on Thursday, so Friday will just be gravy.
I was just there Sunday (yesterday) afternoon/ evening. SR, the Mouse, and Comet had the longest lines, and SR was being a bit moody-- it was up and down sporadically. LR went out a few times with 1/3 of the train empty. Wildcat's line never reached the first block of queues. SDL was a walk on. GB was a 3-4 train wait, and even the line for the first seat didn't extend past the platform.
If it's warm, the lines for the water rides will be long at 1PM, so that will take some of the pressure off the coasters, except for Roller Soaker which will also have a long line.
