TIPS ON CEDAR POINT???

I am making my first trip out to CP next weekend. I am curious if anyone has any tricks/tips they would like to share with me so i can get the most out of the short time that i am there. Thanks for any help!!! :)
Oh-----i forgot, i have a few tips i can share in return, for Great Adventure --------if interested.
Tips Clipped in Trip Reports. Search. Read. Enjoy.

Park in the Soak City lot if you already have tickets.

The back of the park is usually empty, so plan to hitback there around the busy times.

Use the transportation rides, it's a long walk.

DON'T carry any backpacks/purses with you, you can't get on rides

Drink lots of the free water they give away

I'm sure I'll think of more and edit my post. ;)

Me? I'm dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly... stupid.
I suggest the following: Try to get to the park once it opens and head over to MF. once you ride it either get a fast pass for it or head back towards the rear of the park. You can pretty much hit up all the rides back their with no waits, its so deserted they prolly wont even open all the seats on MS yet. Stay back their and work you r way up to gemini and magnum, hit those rides until about 1:30. at that time i suggest hitting the fast pass for dragster. afterward, i would go eat lunch then hit up the front of the park and pretty much play the day by ear. around 2-3oclock the front usualy starts to thin out
Go in through the Marina entrance or the Magnum entrance, not the front gate. You will experience much less crowds and will be able to get to the big rides quicker. (Go to Marina entrance for MF and Magnum entrance for TTD).

Don't go on Raptor during the first half of the day, or you will be waiting a long while.

Wait for the front seat on TTD no matter how much longer it is...it is worth it. It is such a breathtaking ride.

Even if MaXair's queue is flowing out, just get in line. The line will still only be about 15-20 minutes most likely (assuming no breakdowns)

Sit in the front of Mean Streak, otherwise it is quite uncomfortable.

Get Freeway for MF at 11:00 (I suggest getting there at 10:45). IT is located near the entrance, you can't miss it. Get Freeway for TTD at 2:00 (get there around 1:45 for it)

Magnum - car one row three provides the most airtime, car 6 row one provides the smoothest ride.

Get in the back row of Gemini for some great ejector airtime ;)

Spend the most time in the park as possible...

I will think of more and edit. *** Edited 6/13/2005 4:36:54 PM UTC by Raging_Bull***

these tips -------------THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!
I meant to say--------These tips are GREAT!!! THANKS AGAIN!!!
Spend days and days there. It's the best park on the planet and you should consider yourself lucky that they even let you pay to get in.

Tips? I dunno... go to the back of the park first since I've always found that people flock to Raptor upon entering the place. Don't miss Blue Streak, especially at night. And get an elephant ear, as I remember those things being sinfully good.

Be at the gate before the park opens! Everything hinges on this! Wear sneakers for your brisk walk to MF, Dragster, front seat Raptor or Wicked Twister. Stay ahead of the masses, while hitting two or three of these headline attractions then you are set. You must move quickly!

After you've hit two or three headliners the rest of the coasters you can walk on during the first hour or two of the parks opening because everyone will be in line for the headliners.

Take advantage of FastPass because everyone else will. It all evens out if you use it.

It can take 30 minutes walking from one end of the park to the other, so plan your rides and use your map.

Hit the water rides before it gets too late in the day to avoid long waits.

Get out of the park for lunch, esp. if it is hot. Goto Red Robin were it is airconditioned and the food is cheeper.

Cedar Point is huge! You'll be near death if you try to be there all day, unless you spend a lot of time resting at the water park's aqua-bar. I love the aqua-bar.

And it is one of the best parks to be at night. I think it may still get dark there before closing, not sure. Go to the park when it closes late if you want a night time show.

I would suggest making MF your very last ride of the night, a MF night ride is worlds different than a day ride.

My tip?

Drive past Cedar Point to go to SFWoA!

Oh...

Seriously, I'd follow what many of the others are saying. Park in Soak City lot, and pick between the two: ride Dragster first or do the coasters in the back of the park starting with Magnum. If you really want to do Dragster, get to the gate an hour and a half before opening only if you are staying at one of the resort hotels or have Joe Cool (you'll get in a half hour early) and RUN to Dragster.

If you are spending a few days at the park, take a lunch break on one of those days and drive over to Marblehead and eat the BEST Strawberry or Peach Sundaes ON THE PLANET! at Brown's Dairy Dock.

I found last time I was there not to ride dragster first thing. Sure, you'll wait less, but every other coaster the rest of the day seemed slow. Especially Magnum, which I rode immediatley after riding Dragster...man, that thing seemed slow.

The Millenium Force ride Ops: Squishing you where it counts since 2000. Track Record: 89 coasters
TTD better be working -----as well as Millenium Force!! I would like to get both day and night rides in.
Ride Millenium Force in the back after dark.

What Jim said, MF is AWESOME in the back seat @ night.
Both MF and TTD are worth the wait for the front seat. If you are staying at a resort and have early entry, go to the Marina entrance and run to MF. If you start with MF, hit Mantis next as the line will be short in the morning and long in the afternoon. Like others have said, start in the back and work up to the front of the park later. Sometimes you can get walk on rides on Raptor in the evening depending on what day you visit. Sorry, no rerides like SF, you have to exit and reenter the ride :(

CP is a large park so you will be doing a lot of walking. Have good shoes on. I like to grab several rides in a row on rides like Gemini and Magnum as the lines are not usually too long. This saves walking back to them later. I love night rides on Raptor, Magnum and MF. Nothing like a front seat night flight on the Raptor. Right rear seat is the best seat on Raptor. Car 1 row 3 and Car 6 row 3 are the best seats on Magnum. 1-3 is the Ejector seat. 6-3 has you out of your seat all the way down the first hill. Back seat is best on WT. Don't forget your freeway stamps for MF and TTD. If TTD breaks down at all in the morning, they will not issue the freeway stamps for it later in the day so you could get a stamp for something else.

Try to make MF your last ride of the night. Get to the line just before closeing and enjoy the ride of your life. Try to spend more than one day if you can. Don't go on a Saturday. Good luck with TTD. If you see my name on the meeting calendar than TTD will probably be shut down that day ;)
