Tips For Crossing The Canadian Border?????

AAA suggests a pass port or birth cirtificate. A drivers licens from a US state is okay to get you into Canada, but they do suggest the passport or birth cirtificate to get you back into the US (as proof of citizenship).

I've never used anything other than a driver's license. I've been stopped on average one out of five crossings.

Never, ever use currancy exchanges. They screw you as much as they can with their percentage. Anything that you pay for with plastic gets that day's exchange rate. Ditto for ATM withdrawals. You might find that if you use an ATM to take out $150 CDN (about $100 USD), the ATM fees will be far less than the surcharge for exchange.

Thanks for all the help! :) I found out late last night that I would have had to have gone solo on the trip. From the Knoebels area to Rochester, to SFDL, Canada, and Buffalo would have just been a little too much by myself for 2 days. Western NY must not be in the cards for me. This is the second time in two years I had to cancel my NY trip. :(

I did a PKD and SFA run last summer and it sucked. Going solo that is. The drives just seem twice as long without a co pilot. This trip would have been twice as long milage wise.
