Time Warp at SFNE: First of it's kind?

Does anyone have any information on this? I believe Thrillride! stated it was the first of it's kind when it opened.
Not sure, but SFWOA has one too.  Theirs opened in either 1998 or 1999 I think.

Both were built in 1999. I think SF ordered a third, but I am not sure who has it.
The Six Flags Site says Time Warp opened in 1987.

Time Warp opened at Riverside Park in 1997 when Premiere Parks puechased the park and added $20 million in new rides which included: Time Warp, Mind Eraser, Ship Wreck Falls, a portable Choas which was replaced later that year by Twister, and several new kiddie rides to create Startoon Studios.

Also Time Warp was the world's first Vekoma Air Jumper.

Actually, The Time Warp at SFNE is not a Chance Inverter, like SFWOA and SFGAdv, but is a Vekoma "Air Jumper".  According to Vekoma's site it was the first of 3 installed so far worldwide (http://www.vekoma.com/productshowcase/reference.html).  The ride is very similar to a Zamperla hawk (Kennywood's Aero 360, and the new ride at Dorney Park this year)
Actually, there is another one called "Tomahawk" at Frontier City in that state above Texas. It is themed way better.
