Time Twister to be last expansion pack?

Looks like they're cutting the life of RCT2 short.

Quote from official site:

"RollerCoaster Tycoon® 2 is taking gamers back through history and forward to the future in its final expansion pack, RollerCoaster Tycoon® 2: Time Twister."

'final expansion pack' are the key words there :)

So is this the end or are we getting a jump on RCT3? The original made it 3 1/2 years before the sequel came out.

My apologies if this has been mentioned before and I missed it.

I think we can just hope the obviously limited role Sawyer's played in the expansions is a sign he's busy writing an all new engine for RCT3, which is already well into development.
A guy can dream, can't he?
If this really is the final pack it seems very likely there will be a RCT3... as long as this franchise keeps making money I can't imagine them letting it go.

It'd be a shame to leave off here. I honestly think that the game runs fine as it is.

I'm not really excited about where these two expansions went. I didn't buy WW, probably won't buy TT either. It's not that I don't like the game, I go to CBGames every day, and play a few times a week. It's just that I have no interest in unrealistic scenery as an add-on.

There'd be few things that I'd like to change that would actually require a total re-do of the game.

Little unrealistic things just bother me. Examples you say? Sure! Who's ever been on a rapids ride where there's nothing but tight 90 degree turns? How about a water slide with a lift hill? How about a park with no games? Ever seen a refreshment stand that sells food but no drinks? Why can't I have a path go to the side of the exit building?

These things are easily remedied, and that's why I'm not really excited about an RCT3. I think of the things that I want fixed, it can be done within the current restraints.

Of course, it would be nice to have just a couple of added features that may require a rewrite: I'd like to be able to import my old RCT (and RCT2) games in to the new one. Also, it'd be nice to be able to add rides to scenarios. (Like the new swings or ring of fire to something I'm already working on.)

As long as RCT3 isn't Gonch's Landscaping Tycoon idea, I guess I'd be okay.

Isn't it nice, sugar and spice, luring disco darlings to a life of vice.

i think it is just for rct2

Awhile back I heard the Infogamers bought the rights to RCT3.com!

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes, that way if they get upset with you, they'll be that much further away from you with no shoes.

Do you notice they are not advertising "all new rides" like their misleading information about Wacky Worlds did?

Looks like new scenery, new and new themes on old rides. Only thing is, we are way beyond the game's limits with scenery and custom scenery the way it is now......

Perhaps it's final for RCT2 and depending on sales will think about RCT3?

Especially after wacky worlds didn't do as well as expected (I assume) maybe they are hoping this will get more attention.

Um, there is no more momentum left from the previous two games to jump onto the third sequel bandwagon. It has basically begun to slowly die out.
I find it interesting that while the official site does indeed call TT the "final" expansion pack, the Atari site only calls TT the "all-new" expansion pack and makes no mention of it being "final"....

The Atari site also makes mention of a Raptor ride, Minotaur maze and a Jet Pack coaster...Im sure just re-do's of old rides rather than new ones....

Is there actually any proof that there will be a RCT3? Maybe I missed it...
