tilt coaster at sfmm

i actually think sfmm is getting a tilt coaster from giovanola this year instead of a launched floorless. this could happen if sfmm secretely made a 2 year deal with giovanola, instead of b&m.

Well, still no official announcements from The Mountain. Rumors are really flying about this park. I have a feeling announcements will be made as soon as everything is back to normal after Fright Fest.

Gut feeling: The "tilt" coaster photo (with Colossus in the background) was a mock-up. I doubt it if this "tilt" coaster will ever become a reality. It just looks likt too many design and maintainance headaches, to me.

Gotta ride 'em all!
i STILL maintain my theory that arrows announcement @ IAAPA will involve SFMM

People Who Know(TM) tell me it's just going to be that they sold an Arrowbatic, and that's pretty much it.

I figured the acrobatic would be about it. Arrow badly needs to start selling their new stuff.

What is a tilt coaster? I have not heard of one until I read this.

Joke how? That rendering was real from Giovanola and appeared in First Drop (ECC's club magazine). Goliath at Magic Mountain is in the back ground probably just because Giovanola had the photo.

Still, I'm a little creeped out about that model because I'd be worried about the train releasing before the track was in place.

I highly doubt a 'Terror Tilt' will ever be built. Especially in California where insurance rates are sky high. Ever wonder why there are OTSR's on Revolution and Flashback???
That does look pretty cool, though I do agree with Jeff, if those brakes fail while it's tilting, it's all over for the whole train.
I'm sure there would be more than brakes. There would have to be a good many failsafes.
I don't see what is so special about the tilt feature.
Just my 2 cents!

Man that looks real scary!
It'd be interseting if halfway through the course they use that tilt thing as sort of a transfer track where you're transfered to a straight drop down. Just a thought

That transfer track looks wild. This possibly could substitute a B&M dive machine. When the track transfers you are straight down.

Randy, that is exactly what it does. It is a computer mock-up of a new design from Giovanola, their version of a dive machine, at 90 degrees.

So you want a coaster in your backyard? I hope you have a big backyard.
Frankly, I don't understand the need for the tilt mechanism....what does it add to a ride, besides a short span of track that is vertical.

It seems to me the risks/complexity of this design may outweigh the rewards.

Hell, MF goes almost vertical as it is....
