A costumed character employee that worked at Disney World rejected a plea bargain that would've kept him out of jail in a misdemeanor molestation case. He's accused of groping a 13-year-old girl and his mother while posing for a photo. The defense will show pictures of promotional literature that shows costumed characters with hands in similar positions.

Lots of stuff will come out in this case...one item already OUT there is the defense asking for an *altered* version of the costumed character to be used in proceedings so as not to create a bias against the defendant...
I wear a costumed character that is similar in design to that of Tigger. I can tell you without doubt that I could put my "paw" on a knee, butt, shoulder, breast, etc and wouldn't be able to tell the difference of what I was feeling. How the guy could "get off" by doing it is beyond me so that in and of itself makes me question this entire case.
If you are worried about getting touched, don't take your picture with a park character. If you are worried about someone getting off on your kid, don't sit him on Santa's knee at the mall. No offense to anyone here may dress as Santa professionally, but does not like kids in that way. ;)
edit: wahoo, that makes MUCH more sense. Knowing how Disney feels about protecting their *properties*, I can see that being a reasonable request on THEIR part. I should have figured that the "journalist" reporting the story had his facts.....*confused*...;)
