Is this going to be just like the Tiger Island at SFMW or is it going to be somesort of show?  And why would they build this if there are going to be tigers in The Lost World?

Take a good look at Six Flags Worlds of Adventure because in a few years the Sea World side will look exactly like it does, a zoo.
I geuss no new coasters???
That's cool, but are they still going to go with the planned Lost World in 2003 with the boat ride, tigers, and new bird arena?  And if they do put the bird arena there, are they going to replace the old one with part of the hyper coatster and if so when would that be 2003 or 2004?  Also, if the coaster is still blocked for that site would they just come up with a new site?  Finally, when are they going to get a dark ride!?

Bubba, they are still not sure if these tigers will be moving over to the Lost World.

Lost World is still scheduled to open in 2003.

I think that the park will pick a new site for their planned roller coaster, and the city council took off the site plan for the coaster off the agenda.

Does take it off mean that it's a dead issue, or just that Six Flags would have to start the issue again with them?

While I'm happy to see this new attraction coming this year, I'm a bit disappointed at what appears to be the loss of the All-Star Pets show.  That was one of the best shows they had on the wildlife side.  It will be missed if it's being removed.
I think that it is good that they are putting something else in besides coasters. This will be another family exhibit and will be another way to let people know that they have more than just coasters. Hopefully they will also increase park service as well.

Where has the magic gone in the name Disney?

I'm just curious, will this be partnered with the two other Tiger Islands - one I think is in Florida, and the other is at Dreamworld over here. I know that they like to trade tigers and stuff for a wider genepool.

In referance to the above question about no hyper at SFWoA in 2002: You're right.

Taken from the Aurora Planning Comission meeting notes on Tuesday December 4th, 2001:

SIX FLAGS, N. AURORA ROAD - PRELIMINARY SITE PLAN (ROLLERCOASTER) [0105021]

Mr. Griffith wanted it noted that this plan has been on the agenda since June of 2001 and has had no activity. He felt it is appropriate to remove it from the agenda.

MOTION: To remove the Preliminary Site Plan for Six Flags [0105021] from the agenda due to inactivity.

Mr. Melcher moved for approval; Mr. Luckay seconded, and the motion carried, 5-0, on a roll call vote.

Yeas: Mr. Melcher, Mr. Luckay, Mr. Griffith, Mr. Folisi, Mr. Edmonds
Nays: None

Yes, but supposedly it is supposed to make its way back onto the agenda sometime later in this year.

At least something is coming to improve the park. ;)

So then that doesn't necessary mean things have changed that much if that weren't going to try making it until 2003 anyways.  I guess we can still have hope, but I'm still curious if there's any chance of the dark ride and monorail system.  It'd be interesting to see this park in say 2004, because if they pull all these improvements off than this park has the potential to be one of the truly great parks, with much diversity of attractions and great rides.  A massive park with animals and roller coasters would be pretty cool and imagine how whales, tigers, a new world, a hyper coaster will add to the park. . .   Now if they can build a dark ride :)

They lost the All-Star Pets show? Hmmm....Given that Sea World San Diego is adding that as a new attraction, I wouild guess that Busch is retaining rights to the show. If this is the case, are they going to rename all their shows?

BTW...tell me more about the pet show!

It was pretty cute.  My family and friends liked it.  They had kinds of animals doing tricks including a pig.  They had dogs fetching, cats climbing, a dog drving a little car, etc
