Tidal Wave model presented to Paramount’s Great America

Posted | Contributed by Arrow Guy

On July 8th, Paramount's Great America celebrated Tidal Wave's 25th birthday with an early morning TV shoot, costume contest, cake, memorabilia and ERT. The shuttle loop coaster was the tallest in the world when built in 1977, and carried the Tidal Wave theme until 1999. A video presentation put together by Steven Wilson and PGA's Derek Hanna was also shown, featuring original footage and interviews with ride ops and enthusiasts. The model was donated to the park for their strong devotion to the ride's history.

The ride is fun and it never has lines. If only they took off the breaks through the station so the train would actually go up the back spike.
