Thunderheads trains will be shipping tomorrow

We finished up Thunderheads trains yesterday 3/08 and we will start sending them to Thunderhead Gap via truck tomorrow. They should be onsite by Friday. All I can say is they look awsome.

Sometime next week they "should" be ready to roll on their test runs. Unfortunately I don't have any pics as of yet, but I'll see if I can get some tomorrow as we load them on the trucks. I can't guarantee anything though.

Sweet Hallelujah Hell Yeah!

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!
Great news. Glad to hear everything is coming together well. Less then four weeks now for me :)

Go GCII! :)

Maybe that will finally prompt Dollywood to update their construction pages! They seemed to have stopped the "once, monthly" updates.

As did GCII.

BTW, have you noticed the name is actually 'The' Thunderhead on the logo, though DW states several times on their website "Thunderhead™"?

^I know what your talking about. On the 2004 Regular Season/Festival of Nations brochures & on the pass commercials the ride is called "The Thunderhead Wooden Coaster" but on the web and in the press realease they refer to it as "Thunderhead".

I think it is probably just to inform people who are not aware the park has a new Roller Coaster. With Thunderhead Wooden Coaster, people know it is a roller coaster that is made out of wood.

Well I guess that's three names then. :)

I was just referring to the offical logo that just says "The Thunderhead", shown here
http://www.dollywood.com/Ride_Thead.htm
and here
http://www.greatcoasters.com/thunderhead.html

And yep I just noticed on the DW 2004 brochure it's "The Thunderhead" with "Wooden Coaster" underneath.

Funny...

So, did they arrive safe and sound?
Yep. They arrived early this morning just as they left the office, which means I'm now out of the amusement industry. :( Back to my regular job now.

The one perk is I get to go to Dollywood on the 23, 24, and 25 to test Thunderhead and walk the track which I think will be super cool. Maybe I'll get to build trains again next year as well.
