thunderbolt being torn down!

Ain't that the truth, though there are notable exceptions like you pointed out KK. Am I the only one worried that T3 just can't live up to its predecessor?

jeebuz. wut a l00zer.

T2 live up to the original? In what universe? Arnold talks too much in in the second one. It tries to be way more philisophical and cute than it needs to be. Extremely inferior to the original (which spooked me, even though I saw it when I was 17, with all the lights on, and hardly alone).

Is anyone else more than a little nervous about the sequels to The Matrix? I personally thought it had one of the best endings of any movie I've ever seen. Why mess with a good thing...

T2 is way better than the original. The whole thing creeps me out. Running from an unstoppable machine is scary indeed. T3 is probably going to suck arse, but then again the new director (Johnathon Mostow) did the *excellent* and underappreciated film Breakdown.

But yeah, that and Toy Story, plus Aliens, and maybe The Empire Strikes Back and the Indiana Jones movies, are the only outstanding sequels I can think of. I haven't seen Godfather II or The Two Towers yet, though.

BTW I always thought The Matrix was fully intended to have sequels. I always thought it was intended to be a trilogy.

Actually, I think you're right, MagnumForce. But I still liked the ending a lot.

Oh yeah and another thing Empire Strikes Back doesn't hold its weight alone. I consider STT as a 6 part movie not 6 seperate movies. Apart none are extrmely amazing, together they are unequaled.

SFGAM the ending was good but seriously was intended to leave you hanging. Neo mastered The Matrix but what was he going to do now?

Ahhh good old April Fool's jokes. I remember the last time I must have pulled one of those. Man, I had to be what... 8 years old? Anyone else drawing parallels or would you like a compass?

I'm not an enthusiast, I just play one on message boards.

What, are yah' kidding me, MagnumForce? Star Wars (no "A New Hope," just plain Star Wars for me) is one of my favorite movies. The other two are truly great when taken in context (and, of course, bring up the original even more).

IMHO, the first two of the prequels just don't hold their weight, period. Not in context with each other, not in context with the first three, and I highly doubt in context with the next one. Lucas had too much control over them.

I was trying to link the Animatrix in that, Brent, but I couldn't find it. Oh well. All three of the original Star Wars trilogy films are on my favorites list and I agree with you. The same thing goes for the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I wish the rumor about an Unbreakable trilogy was true. Believe it or not, that was my favorite out of Shyamalan's films so far. His specialty is the trick endings though and I love them.

Unbreakable is my favorite too Danny. Why I didn't figure out the clues to begin with is beyond me. Too me its a lot realer then Signs or the 6th Sense.

And GAM the prequels do well at what they are supposed to do. The foresahadowing is great if you just take the chance to listen closely "I have a felling you will be the end of me Anakin". They are intended to tell a why story which they do well. Non is in and of itself a complete story though.

I love how they just keep getting darker and darker.

I thought a lot of The Phantom Menace was rather silly, but I did like AOTC quite a bit (you won't believe how many Razzies it was nominated for though)! I loved the many references and 'foreshadowing' so to speak, such as Obi-Wan's line to Anakin, "Why do I get the feeling you'll be the death of me?", and the ending was too cool as well. Plus, you have to love Yoda! :)

-Danny

Unbreakable = one of my all-time favorite movies. And after Signs, M. Night has become my favorite director.

The scene in Unbreakable where Bruce Willis is standing in the train station touching people is so good, it gives me chills.

A lot of Phantom Menace was silly but it did its job and it brought a whole new generation into the legacy. It now excompasses 3 generations of fans.

Sorry to get off topic, but actually the Wachowski Brothers (directors) created the whole story before they even started filming the first matrix, and the WHOLE story spans throughout all three of the movies, Just FYI!

We already established that Montu
