I was just doing some searching on RCDB and just found out that Thunder Eagle is being relocated to Canada to Mont Saint Sauveur waterpark. http://rcdb.com/installationdetail2467.htm

I'm glad to see it didn't face the wrecking ball!

I think we already had a topic on this a few weeks ago.

Anyway, I'm glad that it was relocated. I didn't like it that much, but better alive than dead.

Yeah, we had this discussion about a month ago....but I'm so happy I'd love to discuss it further....:)

BTW Dukeis#1....the other CoasterWorks product, DBH, took a little while to "break in" as well....I think the *park* will be VERY happy with their decision...:):)

Has anyone ridden it, it doesn't look to bad for a $600,000 coaster. I saw it for sale and was thinking if it gave any airtime, or lats that is one heck of a great investment.

I wonder if they had to do any extensive work on it. It sat dormant for quite some time.

It gave no airtime. It was quite boring, actually. But pretty.

My son and I rode it and found it simple and little air time. We did get a free second ride from the operator. Now at that time it was still called the Intimidator. We just happend to see it back off the road and decided to ride it.

Glad to see it found a home, anyway.

Gator: I can confirm that the DBH has broken in quite nicely. Definitely one of my top 5 woodies after riding it about three dozen times in one night in May!

How long has Thunder Eagle been relcoated? I drove by the old Race World on my trip and saw that is was not there any more. In fact the only thing that is still at Race World is the parking lot.

Hmm. When I was at Race World, my wife and I were the only people in the entire facility. It probably didn't help that it was about 100 degrees inside the arcades and other facilities.

But even then, after my solo lap on Intimadator, they would not give me a free ride. Lame.

And a lot of people thought this would be the last woodie in Pigeon Forge for a looong time. I'm ready to get some 'head... Thunderhead! ;)

I think that Thunder Eagle would have been a sucess if it was located on the Main Strip Parkway instead of Teaster Lane.

Most of the Go-Cart tracks in that area thrive on people that are on the sidewalks, and Race World was just a little to far off the main Walkway to bring in enough people.

Pigeon Forge has been lacking a large Amusement Park on the Parkway since Magic World closed back in '95. Currently the only A.P.s other than Dollywood in P.F. are Kid's Country out across from the place Ogles's Used to be, and then that Rockin Raceways deal next to the Comedy Barn.

That looks like a nice investment, airtime or not. It looks like a fun little ride for $600,000 dollars, just a pain to move.

That is a good point Dukeis#1. I think that most vacationers that visit Piegon Forge find out there is a Race World beacause they see a roller coaster in the distance(Thundeer Eagle). But now they wouldn't even drive by there because they dont see anything.
