Sad news...Bob Coker has announced some sad news about his ever popular web-site. I am weeping.
www.thrillride.com
Wow I cant believe it :(

Any Bathroom near SFMM has been Vandalised.
Yes... I knew that was coming. What a bummer. Things got really weird on that site when they added the forums. I don't think Bob was ever about site design or flashy graphics, but his writing is the best on the Net when it comes to ride reviews. That's a shame.

What awful news. Thrillride was the first coaster site that I ever discovered about 2 years ago, and it really gave me an appreciation for Theme Parks that I never before had. It really inspired me to become an enthusiast and love coasters. I reverently read the rumors and news pages each week and loved every review.
This is extremely sad for me. What an incredible site it was.

"Clear, Dispatch"
I am/was a moderator over there and didn't even see this coming. I don't know what all's going to happen, but it is really sad news. ThrillRide! has been a huge part of my internet and roller coaster experience since I discovered it, and I am so sorry to see it go.
Wow, I am shocked. I have allways loved that site. I loved the Wild Rumors, they were cool to imagine of parks actually did what the rumors said. That's pretty sad. It was a very good site, but once it changed it's design, it sorta went downhill. So now that they bought rollercoaster.com, and it is shutting down, it's almost if two awesome roller coaster website are no longer being updated. What a bummer.
I am also sad to see it go. It, too was my first coaster site, and through its WR/RN weekly updates, I have become an enthusiast to an extreme degree. I'm truly saddened to see them go. However, I did notice a downshift in quality when their message boards introduced.
I was a moderator over there for a while. Things were getting too touchy (the topics, slow progression of deciding what to do, etc...) so I resigned. Before I did, I noticed that a couple other moderators also did, so I knew that there was trouble, but I didn't think it was so bad that Robert would close the site.

Cyclops. 1900 feet of CCI goodness.
Im also sad it's closing down as i looked forward every week to the WR/RN section. I hope somebody else can replace that feature, it was great!
I'm sorry to see ThrillRide! go. It was the first good coaster site I found on the net and I loved reading his ride reviews.
Thrillride.com was a great site for ride reviews and "Wild Rumors." Saddly, im going to miss thrillride.com :(

Don't fight the bull - ride it. Raging Bull - July 14, 2001
Actually, the message boards are not the reason the site went down, because Alex (he helped Bob keep the site up) and one of the mods are redoing everything and launching a site very similar to CB, that will be a community type site!

The Pens will win the Stanley Cup in 2002!
Let's shift this to the news section...
