Thrill Seeking Grandma

This little gem popped up on my recommended watch list. Gives some hope as I age rapidly.

Thrill seeking grandmother is a rollercoaster fanatic

I pulled the video up with caution, thinking “If this Grandma is younger than me…”. Turns out she had 18 years on me, so good. And yes, there’s something to aspire to.

I hope that's me. I still love to ride, but it's more a habit of convenience (which is pretty easy in Orlando). I'm not sure if I would travel for the purpose of riding, but if I happen to be in Copenhagen, I'm not going to not visit Tivoli, for example.

I know some mountain bikers in their 70s that are in better shape than me. They’ve transitioned to e-bikes but they’re still strong and ride a ton. That’s my goal. Mountain biking, skiing, Universal’s 4th gate. :)

Wow, this is pretty awesome. She looks great at 88. Good for her.

I don’t necessarily see myself riding coasters at that age, but God willing, I want to be somewhat in shape and mobile, and still able to operate a clutch pedal (assuming EVs haven’t brought the death of ICE vehicles by then).

You and kpjb can keep the last one running until the end. :)

That is a great story. She is so full of life. The on-ride photo was a neat way to end the clip - pure joy.

I can say it was great to have my parents both ride later in life. Mom rode through the summer before she passed at 72 and dad rode into his 80s. Some of my best park memories are of them later in life riding some of the rides I swore they'd never get on.

Watch the tram car please....
