Thought on SFH's Goliath

First of all, let me say Goliath is one wicked looking ride.

Some of you have mentioned that the 2nd hill is unusually high in comparison to the first. Plus the layout suggests a very high average speed.

Its got a cable lift. MF's is quite fast, what was it again? 10mph? Therefore Goliath's could be the same, if not faster, say 20mph?

Anyone care to comment?

Btw, on Fright Time, they've announced the official name for the Overbanked Hill. It's called the 'Stengel Dive.' :)

Millennium Force's lift speed is aprox. 12-15 mph.
Hey Taipan, did Fright Time change there URL or somehting?I havent been able to acces the site for a few months.
The lift may be fast but it really doesn't make much difference in the speed of the coaster and least this is what I have been told. If that was the case MF would be faster then steel dragon.

Does CCI know how to make a bad coaster?

anyone think they might upgrade the other intamin hypers with cable lifts instead of a chain lift?

All I know is that after looking at they layout, I would not mind at ALL if some US parks got some mid-sized Intamin hypers! Anyone else think one of these would fit perfectly in parks like SFKK, SFMW, or SFEG?

Anyone else here doing the ACE Europe trip this year?

Hey Batwing,

I dont think they will do that. Because nothing beats the time going up a riggidy long chain. Its too classic to get rid of. I do bet they will start putting cables on all coasters years to come though.

I don't think the lift will be as fast as MF because the lift is not that long to go so fast. It will probably be like 7 or 8 mphs. That ride will fit nicely in a little park that needs somethin thrillin.
