This is Indiana Beach without water

A friend sent me this link, knowing I like Indiana Beach, hehe. It shows what Hoosier Hurricane and the park looks like when the lake is drained. The lake is drained about every 3 years for maintenance on the dam which is near-by. The pictures are pretty eerie!

Whoa thats wild. Those shots of the Hoosier Hurricane make it look like it could fall in in a hearbeat resting on those stilts on that bridge like that hehe.

Wow, eerie looking! I agree, those stilts are not very reassuring, are they? Im waiting for somebody to mess with them, because they are accessible, if you get a boat, you can just go right up to it! But people up there dont think like that.

I think when the water is up, they put tires around the supports. You can see it in this picture: http://www.customcoasters.com/images/cornball_02-01_d.jpg.

These pictures look fake for some reason.. they are probally not though

I'm pretty sure they are 100% real, because the lake is drained every few years (it was also a good time to build the Hoosier Hurricane)...

Gee, talk about timing on building the pilings for CE.;) Anyway, those are some funky photos. I wonder if we could try riding the coasters like that?:)

I'm sure you could, I don't know how much affect the water gives on the supports. They are going to vibrate just the same with the water there or not...it does look funny with those stilts though. They have to be very strong.

The photos are real, they were taken several years ago by a Beach employee, who happens to also be a member of ACE.
I can attest to the fact that there is indeed water in Lake Shafer this year and that the frozen lake did cause a bit of delay in Cornball Express construction.

that is really cool. But does this mean they are going to build a coaster every three years when they drain the water down. lets hope so glitch because it is better than 11 years like the hurricane.

I withdrawl my thought of the photos being fake, I found out they were taken by one of my friends.

Well, CornBall Express wasn't consturcted with the lake down...it was up all winter. That would still be cool though :) It's been 7 years since Hoosier Hurricane...hopefully they will cut that in half until the next coaster (maybe a popular type of steel coaster next time?) Time will tell.™

Hey Glitch, IB is the coolest park I've been to all summer. I'm definitely coming back next summer. Would you know how to contact guest relations by e-mail? The only address I found on their site was for someone named "Tim" and it didn't work.
