It has trim brakes all over the place and just crawls through certain sections. The helix was incredibly slow.
There is a reason it is like that...
This coaster has an AMAZING story behind it. Anyone seen the on ride footage of this coaster on one of those "World's Greatest coasters..." videos?
There are huge stretches of nothing, and a LONG helix with a strange support structure. The reason...It was supposed to pass through several heavily themed areas. One was the helix which was supposed to encircle an erupting volcano, which I believe was to be enclosed. Another place it was going to traverse a working replica of Niagra Falls. Also, I believe there was a third themed element. It sounded like a $100 million Disney "E ticket" kind of attraction. The coaster was built first, but they never got around to the theming. It's a shame, it sounded amazing. I am just repeating what I remember reading about this coaster in a detailed article in an older coaster magazine (perhaps Amusement Park Journal?) Does anyone know of info on the concept for this coaster online? I was shocked the first time I read it!
