Think we will see any more flying coasters?

With all the problems with X-Flight, we can probably say that it isn't entirely the fault of SF because it is a new type of coaster. Think because of the problem and complex mechanics of a flying coaster, we won't see any more, or alot less than we think?
i'll reserve judgement untill AIR opens:)

yeah Vekoma will fix the problems, and B&M has their prototype coming out so yeah.

the return of Intaminrocks
Unlike Vekoma's rides, I'm betting AIR will run perfectly from day 1. I read in First Drop from the European Coaster Club, that B&M have a perfect record - their coasters ALWAYS work and nvever ever stall. That's why AIR will be techically better than Vekoma's Flying Dutchman's.

Do we really know that forsure? AIR probably is a flying prototype, but that would stink if it wasn't...

Heck Yeah! B&M's ALWAYS work! PERFECTLY!!

except that time this year when Ice Dragon was down...

..and that those problems that Oblivion had..

...On yeah, and when the lift chain on Chang snapped the SECOND DAY of operation...

I hope So ... I just don't want to see anymore Xflight~batwing clones. Vekoma has Done an Excellent Job with this flying dutchman. yeah there is still some bugs to work out....I have every bit of confidence in them and SFWOA.

But guys If you build another one ...A New Track layout please. remember variety is the spice of life.

We are not guessing here, we do know for sure. It has already been announced by John Wardey( http://www.coasterbuzz.com/news/news.asp?NewsID=1484 ).
Construction is already underway.

I'll take them!!Even though SFa is only 4 hours from my house,i would love to have a batwing at SFgadv.I think it's great if a park has a variety of Coaster styles whether it be a clone or not.It would just mean i would travel less of a distance to ride something my homepark didn't have before and, having two very young kids, travel money isn't always available.I am sure i would be missing out on some great coasters if i didn't hit some of the out of state parks but, rite now i am financially limited .

I'd be willing to bet that as soon as the bugs are worked out, the clones will start showing up everywhere, just like every other Vekoma ride. *** This post was edited by kip099 on 6/20/2001. ***
Well, most B&M's work first time... *** This post was edited by Iron Wolf on 6/20/2001. ***
What were the problems that Oblivion had?? I live right near to the park and I dont ever recall it having problems after it opened.
Ice Dragon and other B&M's go down all the time, but that is usually the result of power failure - harldy B&M's fault.

That's not true. ALL coasters break down regularly during their first few months. Nitro's been down for days at a time. Apollo's was down for half a day when I went to BGW, and it was on and off for the other half. No matter who the designer is, the coaster will not run flawlessly from the get-go.
Will there be a flyer at SFGam any time in the future???? B&M Rule!!!!!!!!!!!
Oblivion had problems with the stop at the top of the hill. A few times it stopped and wouldn't get going again.
What happened to Chang?!

I Survived Millenuim Force!
Oblivion had the usual brake down, I say usual because a ride op told me when it broke down (with me on it) that it happens every day and they are quick at reparing it. It is just on openning day with no practise and a 4hour queue they weren't so quick plus add to that is cut out while the train was over the edge on the holding chain.

This Vekoma "coaster" is not a new model. They have had 2 years since Stealth opened to work out the bugs. It just shows how poor their coasters are IMO. Hopefully there will not be many more. There are enough wierd coasters on the market. This one takes the wierd cake.

Yep just like I thought. This comment could only come from someone who has yet to ride one....

I think the twin loading pads and that they want the coaster to recline up the hill requires new control panel which is the new problems they are having. I've ridden it already the cars / harnesses work great ...the track is good its just the kinks in the control panel. I work at a computer wholesaler and sometimes if you sell the exact same parts to two different customers ..sometimes they come back with totally different problems ... electronics can be temperamental at times. besides you should ride it you might like it...I Know I do
