As I was going by Sfgam today, I noticed two large cranes (not daredevil dive) that were located probably by Loggers run/yankee clipper.
The Impulse must be going up soon~!!!!
Whooopeeee!!
Can someone get pics?? Thnx.
Sweet! I hope both are ready by Opening Day. Someone on Thrillride said the Invertigo would be finished before he Impulse which makes no sense since the Invertigo is bigger...

Days till Great America opens
Yeah, when I was at the park last week for my appointment, in the back lot next to SKY WHIRL (RIP) :( , was a bit of flourescent green track. And the week before that came the 4 cement trucks. I will be taking a tour of the park March 10, and I will bring my camera. I'll take as many pics as I can. Only problem is, I don't have a scanner. Also, I will be at the park March 31st & April 1st for my ride report date. I'll also take more pics then. We drove by today, but did not stop in. SinceI was driving, I couldn't stare like I usually do, but I did take a few glances and I didn't see the cranes. Are they as tall as they usually are? And what time did you se them, maybe after I drove by. Anyways, when I get the pictures developed, I'll try to get a hold of a scanner and post them.
Eddie
I saw them around 1:00 PM today.
I don't know what 'usual height' is, but they were about as tall as Daredvil dive.
You saw track????? Were there any supports or anything???
Green would be a weird color to fit in Yankee Harbor. It could blend in with the batman theming though.
COOL, you're taking a tour?!! Neat, hope you can post them! :)
One more thing I left out, well actually... a few. What exactly are the 2 new rides. I heard clones of Superman and Boomerang. Is that true? I don't even know what Invertigo and Impulse are. (rEtArD).And If anybody here has ever worked at SFGAm, do they like, have a day before the park opens to let employees ride? Probably not, but that would be a nice perk. Another thing I heard was that the rides probbaly would not open until a month after the park opens, which is understandable, but I figure, if SFGAm puts out the $, the company will work 24-7 to get it done on time. But.... that's only what I heard, if you know something I dont about that, LET ME KNOW! (please!)

Do you have AOL, or AIM?
There were no supports when I saw, only track. It was BRIGHT green, not yankee clipper/ loggers run green, it nearly blinded me!!!! I drove by before 1, I dont know how I could have missed them.? It looked like it might be I think it's called inverted track. That's what Batman is, right? Like how the train is under the track? Sorry I'm so coaster iliterate. P)
Sounds like things are starting to move along. To answer your question about employee's riding before the park opens to the public, the answer is no. They hold numerous events during the summer for employee's to ride the rides after the park closes for the night.
Eddie2003 where will you be working at the park?
I have retired my cert badge from the park.

I don't know what, but something about those pictures just made me start laughing when I saw them. It seemed so funny to me. I have no idea why but I think something fishy is going on here...
Anyway, back on subject, I kinda figured that the track would be green and have blue supports because that is what SFMM's Deja Vu colors are. I think we needed a bright coaster for the park. I hope V2's track is blue and yellow. That's what the logo suggests and I think it would look cool. BTW, ragingbull, the green track is for Deja Vu.

I know, you just see the base of sky whirl :(
and the A SINGLE PIECE OF TRACK!!!!
What's going on there???
I'm glad they've started, I was getting worried. I agree it'll be nice to have some brightly colored coasters at SFGAm.

"I'm not crazy, I just don't give a darn."
Last year we had to wait about 4 weeks to ride Superman Ride of Steel at SFA and 3 weeks for the Octopus to open. I get to go through the same wait this year with Batwing. So be patient I swear your rides will open. Just think of it like an extended birthday where you get presents over a bunch of days instead of all at once.
That piece of track does look mighty suspicious. It look like they've laid it there just for someone to become curious. It looks so lonely there. When will the rest arrive? Let's get a move on, SF! I'm ready for summer!!!!!!

You no something, you are probably right. I think someone that takes a picture of it and post it would basically let the coaster community know that "Hey, stop bugging us about the new rides, this piece of track will replace this ride(Skywhirl)" It is strange how they put one piece of track in front of the laid on its side Skywhirl.

Yeah, it's like they just tossed it off the back of a truck. You would think it would be done in a more professional manor, like, several wrapped pieces spread out in an organized pattern or something. somebody could actually steel it if they wanted to. I went right up to it and skywhirl and was taking pics and touching them an nobody said anything! It's so sad seeing my baby (SKY WHIRL) like that I took a million pics of her. This sounds rediculous, but maybe it is a "color swatch" or maybe the company sent them a part to another coaster they are building and the park put it there because it's gonna be picked up?There has to be some kind of story to it. It's too unprotected.
GA is gonna suck this year without SKY WHIRL, they can build 3 million "cool, modern, state of the art, impressive" coasters for all I care and they still could not replace SKY WHIRL. I wish I had $525, 000 so I could buy it. I wonder if I voulenteer at the park for the rest of my life they would give it to me. The park should have left it up. And people say that they dont make parts and it doesnt work and its old blah blah etc..... but if all that was true, why would they sell it? If that was true, they'd junk it. (and id cry.)
