Basically, when i was a sup of my rides and we had no lines,if i tell my employees to clean, the outcome is we would have a clean area,if every sup in the park does this,u have a clean park, but on the other hand,if u dont do this,You can imagine the out come.I dont think sf parks set there standards for cleanliness too high, well at least sfgadv does not,but it has some good rides. But this all starts in upper mgmt, and filters down to the rest of the employees in the park,But for those guest that do litter, use the trash can there is one just about every 5 ft and just about every park
I am a frequent guest at SFGadv though not on crowded Saturdays. I cannot recall seeing overabundant or even moderate litter or any overloaded trashcans but I do see them emptied when full. I know at least some ride ops and ride supes that sweep their ride queues when lines are short or they start or end their shifts. Also most employees pick up occasional litter off the ground and throw it out when walking the park. To the poster a few posts above, I have witnessed Bill Muirhead (VP & GM) pick up litter while walking the midways. (I have also, though I am not an employee). A lot of "guests" are slobs and take the attitude that the employees should clean up after themselves because they are paying guests and the employees are getting $6.50 and hour. The parking lot is filthy by nighttime and I wish something could be done about smoking in queue lines. -Emil-
I agree with Chitown that it's better to be prepared for an emergency with metal detectors than to trust that everyone is going to do the right thing.

ice411girl worked at Hershey, I'll go out on a limb and guess that cleanliness was stressed from the top levels of mgmt. ALL the way down...right-----------------
actually i never worked for hershey park, when i talk about my ride operator days i'm talking about Dorney park where i worked at for the 1999 season and a couple of months in the 2000 season. Sweeping your que line and the areas was really stressed there. We were not allowed to go home at the end of the night until all the trash was off the midways of our areas. And , every once in a while the supervisors would get on a high horse and send there group of emplyees to the public picnic groves to sweep. That was gross and time consuming the last thing i wanted to do at 11 pm is sweep food off of tables especially since i was working all day since 9 am. Thats one of the reasons i quit in 2000. I could swear they higher those other people with the butlers and brooms to sweep all day were are they at the end of the night? anyways... to keep a park clean it takes all of the employees and guest to do there share. But unfortunally that doesnt happen very much.
