Theme park on Border of Conneticut/RI

If you looked at the rollback you will notice in 1996 Warner Bros. Announced they would make a theme park in North Stonington. Does anyone know what happened to this project? Because i would love for there to be a theme park if not in RI atleast on the border. Thanks for any info...

My suspicion is that Premier Parks is ultimately what happened to screw up the deal. The announcement was in '96; I think the Six Flags Over Texas Bidding War was in '98 followed immediately by the Premier acquisition. That meant that (the as-yet not built) Six Flags New England's closest competitor, Riverside Park, was now part of the same company. And the rest, as they say, is history.

I haven't heard that before, but the Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods should build one. They can certainly afford it.
SF was supposed to build a SF park in East Hartford, CT a while back but all the residents voted it down. It was going to be in the place where the new UConn Football Stadium is currently being built.
