This coaster will be entering it's 80th season (81st?) in 2001. It has been operating in basically the same configuration since it opened. Coaster fans of all ages and levels of enthusiasim have enjoyed this ride for generations. It is a consistant draw with respectable lines daily. It has to be one of the best investments any park has ever made paying for itself many times over. This ride is a classic, well liked, very ridable, and profitable. What coaster is it? The kennywood Jackrabbit.
I went on it once. I nearly fell out, I saw my life flash before my eyes (well not really, but it was scary).

Ah, Jack Rabbit. My first introduction to "airtime." I remember riding it over and over again years ago with one of my brother's friends who thought it was so hilarious how my little body would completely lift out of the seat.

i agree, the jackrabbit is an aweosme ride, and kennywood is a wonderful park. however, i wouldnt quite call it the worlds GREATEST roller coaster. it rules, though
I think that slogan used to be on a sign in the station... am I correct? Or is it still there?

I'm still mad at Kennywood for taking out the iron fence around the Jack Rabbit that had the little bunnies on it. It just shows how ANYTHING can be ruined with people sticking gum on it. The Jack Rabbit is a good coaster. I just wish they would strip the 3000+ layers of paint off the cars and repaint them their looking a bit rough. It doesn't hurt the ride any though.

God (and some Kennywood employees) only know what might happen to the Jack Rabbit for its birthday. Maybe the trains or the coaster itself will get a paint job.
Personally, I think a computerized braking system is in the near future.
