The 'Where is this option now?' thread...

Ok, there are a lot of little nitpicky things I either don't like or can't find in RCT2, but I'm curious about one thing in particular...

Has anyone (outside of the scenario editor) been able to raise or lower land uniformly (where you click on one square, raise the land, and the land surrounding that square makes a 'hill')? The scenario editor allows you to do it, but I cannot seem to find it 'in game'. I tried the old method from RCT, tried holding shift and ctrl, all with no positive results. It's really annoying me and the manual is no help at all.

I also didn't like having to find the 'save ride' feature hidden on the ride info tab. Took me forever to find that. (About as long as finding the financial info screen in the lower left.)

Oh well, if anyone can answer my primary question, a big thanks to you ahead of time. Otherwise, post your annoyances here so we can all relearn together.

I share the same feelings about that as you. It's annoying. It means we'll have to send ages terraforming unless a patch or some other hack fixes it (which I doubt will happen). Just a little thing of several that's not as good as the original... what were they thinking?

I really hope the first patch fixes the stupid lack of the 'hill tool' thing... and if not, the first expansion pack had better fix it. I can't believe he'd REMOVE something like that. Unbelievable.

Not that this makes me wish I hadn't bought the game... but still, what an annoyance.

Yes, the lack of the in-game sloping tool is my one major gripe with the game as well. Since I usually start with flat land and terraform as I go, the process has become infinitely more tedious. The only options are either slope each tile individually or constantly switch between the game and the scenerio editor. Either way is a pain and takes well longer than it should. I can't figure out why he'd remove that.

Other than that I have no major complaints.

How do you switch between the game and scenario editor for just one park?

Wow, you're right. You can't. I was running on the assumption that once you did a "convert saved game to scenario" you could actually modify the landscape again, rather than just change some of the objectives. I guess I didn't play around with the scenario editor as much as I thought. My bad.

In that case, it looks like the only option is to slope tiles individually. How annoying.

I see no logic to why you can't do that in the game. That's the first genuinely annoying thing I've found.

I was wondering why the Schwarzkopf loopers don't have the boost track anymore.

Also, can anyone else "overwrite" flat paths when using the directional path tool? It always tells me "path in the way".
