The ultimate flat ride..Top Scan

I was just wondering how many top scans are out there? For those of you who don't know what a top scan is,it's probably the most insane spin n' puke ride out there, I really don't feel like explaining the whole thing out, it's too difficult. The reason why I bring this up is because I have one at my homepark Lagoon, and I've never seen or heard about any other ones.

The only other permanant installations in North America are at Long Island Adventureland and Paramount Canada's Wonderland. Check out http://members.aol.com/surfdancec/spaceroller.htm for more info.

I have ridden the one at Paramount Canada's Wonderland called Shock Wave. Easily the best flat ride I've been on. I never laughed so much on a flat ride in years.

How different is Powersurge at Kennywood from a Mondial Top Scan? That ride is freaky, but nowhere near as insane as a Skyscraper. The Skyscraper at Wildwood is definentely the best rie I've ever been on.

You can see pics and a video at the manufacturer's website:

I have ridden Shockwave and it's is the most disorienting experience - up is down, down is up! Mondial make great smooth, thrilling flat rides!

Whoa... Must get a Top Scan... SFGAm, are you watching?

What ride are you talking about? There isn't one called Powersurge at Kennywood ... maybe you're thinking of Aero 360? That is a ride that was on the Mondial site.

Just too bad that this ride sucks when it comes to loading. Overall it's still a really awesome ride. PCW's shockwave is awesome, but I wish they would change the ride program.
Looks Awesome. Never rode one, but would like to. My favorite flat ride is Chaos at Cedar Point. Rock the car to really get it spinning and you get a great ride. The Aero 360 was closed this year when I went to Kennywood, didn't get to ride it. :(

The worst day at Cedar Point is better than the best day at work.

I *LOVE* Top Scans! They are also my fav flat ride ever. I've now been on three, one at PCW, one at Chessington Worlds of Adventure, and one at a Belgian Carnival in Brussels. The one at the carnival was the best, because it was right next to buildings so it looked like you'd be thrown right into them. It also had the longest ride cycle.

I wonder why there aren't more of these? They are such crowd pleasers!

It tastes like burning.

What type of flat ride is Evolution at gadv. That's my favorite.

There are 4 Top Scans in North America, as far as I know. Lagoon's, Adventureland's, PCW's, and the traveling Space Roller.

I *love* Top Scans. I've ridden Adventureland's more times than I care to count, and it never, ever gets boring. It's intense, offers amazing positive and negative g's, and is a blast to *watch*. Mondial has a winner here.

The Powersurge doesn't hold a candle to this monster. Seriously.

Evolution is a Giant Evolution from, I believe, Nauta Bussink. It, too, is nothing compared to the Top Scan.

They're a great ride, only prob is to get the most you should sit on the outside, and if you do you get loads of laterals forcing your head to the side...my topscan pics here

to answer your Q in the UK there's 2 permanent installations, Samurai at Chessington and Beast at Fantasy Island, and 1 travelling.

Top Scans are incredible. I rode one at the State Fair of Texas and it blew me away! I had to ride again.

What exactly do Top Scans do?

Go under products, find the top scan, and watch the video.

Did you know that 1 in every 5 American teenagers believes that the US declared its independence from FRANCE???

Hey legendary- your right about that top scan at the fair in Brussels- that ride was insane. But the ultimate flat ride that I have ever seen was the megamix at that fair! Im surprised noone got sick on that thing. From what I was told that people in the states will never see one anytime soon- just way too intense and too heavy too travel.

Top Scans are easily some of the best flats out there. American parks need to check them out and give Mondial a ring. The Mondial Revolution is another excellent ride.

Thank You for challenging TOS: The Ride. We hope you enjoy the rest of your day, here at SFCB.

baclueless-

Was Megamix that Top Star Tour? I didn't get to ride it (or see it, damn it) but my friend rode it and said it was even better than the Top Scan. Damn damn damn me for not riding it!

Were you there when the spinning mouse caught on fire? LOL, good times! :)

-----------------
It tastes like burning.

Yup-thats the name(Top Star Tour)-I was going to ride it, but I figured that I would let it go a cycle to see what it did. Thank god I passed on it, it was alot worse than I expected. Our coach captain said it was the most intense ride he has ever been on! And oh yes---we saw the crazy mouse on fire.....how sad!

But back to the top star tour- has anyone ever seen one of these in action???? Its insane!!! If you have, you will agree that a top scan has nothing on this demented ride.
