The Stomach Feeling

I know lots of people get this feeling while going down a big drop on a roller coasters.  Some but not all.  I personally love this feeling and also think it is the cause of people being to scared to ride roller coasters.  They just can't tolerate it.  I was just wondering why you get this feeling.  I aslo want to know if you like or hate it and, get it or don't get it.

Thanks People!

Welcome back riders, how was your ride...Enjoy your day, here at Cedar Point, America's roller coast.
I use to hate that feeling and could not wonder how anyone could love it.But that was before i truly loved rollercoasters,I always thought if i dont get the feeling on a coaster then i would go on it but any coaster with it i couldent ride.Well after getting a little older and starting to love that feeling of butterflys in my stumich i started to like getting it so much that i dident anymore?Still this day alot of coasters dont give me that feeling. It takes a new coaster that has been broken in for a few months to really deliver it.So whats wrong with me? i cant get it anymore!
its called inertia.  things at rest tend to stay at rest.  your stomach wants to stay at the top of the lift hill.  gravity pulls on the train, which pulls on you, which pulls on your insides.  the reason you don't feel it on banked hills is because the track pushes against the car which pushes against you which pushes against your insides.  so inside of feeling your stomach in your throat you feel it squashed down against your bum.

I love that feeling, but I haven't had it since the Little Dipper at Kiddyland (Chicagoland) years ago.  its funny 'cause that kept me off a lot of the bigger coasters at SFGA because I was think that the bigger they are the more intense the feeling.  as it turns out, nothing has given me that same feeling.  although it might be that I have just gotten used it.

That's what makes me love coasters! You sorta get that feeling on swinging ships.
I used too get it alot and when I was little I hated it, I don't really get it as much now though and if I do get it I don't even notice it or it doesn't bother me.
I used to get all time, even on log flumes! :)
It stopped coming on coasters though but it still came on free falls. But now I dont even get it on them anymore. :(

I love the feeling, but I hardly ever get it any more for some reason. Could this be due to the fact that I usually take Dramamine?

I always get that weird feeling on Valleyfairs Power Tower. I always ride the turbo drop everytime I always sit on the top for a mintue or so I get very tense everytime I dont know what it is maybe its the height or me getting nervous before shooting down also the thing I hate is they make you sit before they drop you maybe thats the reason.

I dont get it that much on most coasters. I still get it though on SkyCoasters and Freefall rides. Its strange, I went on Goliath for the first time this summer and I didn't really feel it, but I went on Freefall, and my stomach is still back in California.
I love that feeling...its the best feeling in the world.  When I am driving, I like to accelerate really fast to try to get that feeling..it doesnt work though.
I agree...best feeling in he world!

I used to hate it also, but that was before I REALLY got into coasters. Now, I couldn't love a coaster without it...

Gemini has a great, stomach-tickler first drop.

This is why I love coasters. I love it, and yet my friends hate it, and i can't seem to understand why. It's one of the greatest feelings around.

i get it sometimes
That used to be the reason I didn't like coasters... untill Raptor came along. I rode that coaster, and I didn't get it, so I figured that a lot of coasters could be big, but not give me that feeling. Well, I turned out to be wrong, but I've learned to love it.

Whenever I get it, I always start laughing and smiling, instinctively.

Thank God for roller coasters. :)
