The small things

-The twisty track going on to the lifts on most, if not all, GCI coasters.
-The fact that my home park will so be the only park in the world to feature THREE Vekoma coasters
-The curved station on Knobels's Twister
-------------
2001- the year of flight!
SFH features 4 Vekoma coaster. La Via Volta (Boomerang), El Condor (SLC prototype, very rough), Superman the Ride (LSM coaster, Rock and Rollercoaster outdoor clone) and Robin Hood (Vekoma Woodie, very smooth)
Jeff, when I said the girder on Gemini is there for no reason, I didn't quite mean it. Obviously it holds the track up...but it looks like it's a couple feet longer than it needs to be.

Quirky things I love:
*The first time I rode Kennywood's Jack Rabbit, that double down just set me to giggling (and repeatedly re-riding)
*The rough ride into the Williams Grove Cyclone station
*The helix at the end of Shivering Timbers
*The 'big' drops on Cedar Creek Mine Ride

Here are a few of my favorites, right off the top of my head:

- The speed of the lift on Millennium Force.
- The way MF immediately engages the lift from the station.
- The helix on Great Bear.
- The split lift on Twister.
- The inversion at the top of the lift on the Hulk.
- The sound system and music on Rock 'n Roller Coaster.
- The way one train actually "wins" on Lightning Racer.

Another one I really like is the helix on the Legend, because it is so different than the other ones I have encountered. Most helices are banked and you just kind of go around and around. But with the one on the Legend you actually go over hills while in the helix. Does that make sense? Maybe someone else who has ridden it can explain it better.
Some more hit me...
-the tunnels on the Legend
-the headchoppers on Mamba
-backward cars on ThuNderaTion and the tunnel
-double down first drop on the Boss
-that drop over the water on the Cedar Creek Mine

I think more coasters need tunnels and backward facing cars.
That long slow flat run before the drop on the Loch Ness Monster.

The last run of bunny hops on Rolling Thunder

That little bit of hang time at the top of the lift on batman the ride at sfgadv.

I forgot to mention the way the lift on the mindbender at WEM turns halfway up, and the third loop goes around a walkway. *** This post was edited by saviourmachine on 3/9/2001. ***
The whipping through canyons on Montu is an interesting effect, creating the illusion of even greater speed.

A new POLL every 100 VOTES!
The headchopper effect on Gemini.
How close you are to the queue in Raptors Helix.
The lift on MF(aw hell, the whole thing! LoL)
The chain on SOB.
Trains on the Jack Rabbit.

The small things I hate.
The not so small OTSR on FoF (ouch!).
That lap bar on King Cobra (bad possition for a guy)
The brakes on th first drop of MS.
Ride-Ops who "staple".

I always liked how Cedar Point asks "how was your ride"? It makes me glad to be there.

What is "stapling?" I've never heard the term. (I've probably been a victim of it though ;))
I've never been asked how my ride was at CP out of all four times I've been.

You should tell the Park Operations office next time you are there. Our upper management thinks the guests don't like that...but I'll never stop :-)

I seriously should. It just makes me feel good when you get someone on the mic who is really into their job, it makes the queue more exciting.

I like that too. It really gets everyone excited. It makes trips to CP even better.

All time Top 5: (1) Millennium Force (2) Alpengeist (3) Hulk (4) Ice Dragon (5) Raptor
Last time I was at CP, the guy on the mic at Gemini was doing a spoof of the Raptor guy..."We're going to take you up 10,000 feet and drop you at a 98-degree angle at the speed of light! We're going to turn you upside down not once, not twice but not at all!"

Very funny.
SOB's chain lift, and its "look"
MF's lightning
Shivering's Timbers' no wait
The beautiful neck snapper after the first drop of the Vortex(PKI) that gives awesome airtime
Gwazi's station music
Incredible Hulk's "oh no! something has gone wrong!" before the launch

-------------
Coasters- a little slice of heaven
*The cupola on top of the Blue Streak's lift
*The section of Magnum's track between the station and the lift
*Gemini's head chopper effects
*Hang time in Vortex's corkscrews
*SOB's chain lift
*Mean Streak's queue
*The smell of grease on the Racer's lift (Kennywood)
*the "kidney-basher" drop on Villain
The way you fall into the surrounding track in Villian. Feels like falling in a hole.
