Did anyone see the preview of next week's Simpson's? It looks like Springfield gets an amusement park. I can't wait to watch it, it looks cool.
ya! It was the preview for next weeks episode. But usaully when they show things like that the episode barley has anything to do with that.
I just saw it also. It is a fair, or so they said.
By the way, am I the only one who has noticed that almost every coaster enthusialst is also a Simpsons nut? I know I am :).

Idle hands are the Devil's playground.
Yes, I just saw it too COASTERS. Yeah, they probably won't have much to do with it. You never know though they might get stuck on them or something.

Georgia Scorcher...OH yeah it's fire baby!!!

hehe, I remember reading something about it being a "controversial" (sp?) religious amusement park... (which brings to mind that one that is being built/is built) already...) .. but I remember seeing that from like 2 weeks ago and I don't know why... but yes I did see the preview.
(please, don't turn this into a religeon topic either, I am just mentioning thats what I remember one of the commercials saying that..)

I saw it too. Looks interesting and definitely worth a watch. I love Simpsons (and King of the Hill) but most of all COASTERS!!!!
anybody remember the tooth chipper?

Don't touch the watch.
I remember the tooth chipper! And Duff Land :).

The Tooth Chipper...The Barrel Roll... What's next? Anyone remember the names of the 7 Duffs at Duff Gardens? :)

There are currently 11 coasters with the name Batman, 8 with the name Superman and 22 with the name Boomerang. Batman and Superman: The Ultimate Chiller Knight Flight Krypton Escape Ride.
surly remoresful weazy queezy ... i dunno!

life prevails for those daring to fail.
Did Itchy and scratchy land have any coasters? I remember the log flume. My personal favorite at duff gardens would have to be the happiest fish in the world in the beerquarium, and the duff beeramid, which contains so much aluminum that it would take four grown men to lift it. (12 immigrant laborers died during its construction)
Anybody remember Lego... er... Blocko-Land?
I think there was a blocky coaster in there, somehwere.
It was on this season about a month or two ago.
Again, like most of their episodes... when they visit the amusement park, it usually has little to do with the actual plot.
(except when they visited Itchy&Scratchy Land)
Example? When they went to the water park to go on the H2Woah water-slide... after that, it was all about Homer getting slimming down.
Thats true Dawg Byte, in the duff gardens episode they don't actually get there till the last third of the show (it's still a great episode though) One of the 7 duffs was named tipsy, but thats the only extra one I can remember, i'll have to go back and look at the tape.

In the Itchy & Scratchy Land episode, when the family went in the restaurant to eat there was a steel hypercoaster in the background. My favorite duff has to be surly. "Surly looks out for one person, Surly."

MOOOOOOOOOSE
"would you like Itchy and Scratchy Money"Ticket Seller. Homer"What`s Itchy and scratchy money" Ticket Seller,"it`s like regular money except more fun" homer,"i`ll take $5,000 worth" ITCHY AND SCRATCHY MONEY VOID!
I think the tooth chipper and the ride the teacher`s were riding is the same?

I read somewhere that Homer and Flanders build a Bible-based theme park.
"Oh sure it all looks bad if you remember it" - Homer
How coincidental - for our trip to Busch Gradens a couple weeks ago, I made a road tape themed to the Duff Gardens episode - putting clips from the show between the songs. Based on Homer's saying "Duff Gardens - Hoo-rah!!" and then passing out on his steering wheel I called the tape "Busch Gardens - Hoo-rah!!" (I'm quite proud of the photo I used for the cassette case - a bloody Fabio on Apollo's Chariot). Anyhoo, based on my now extensive knowledge of that episode, I can tell you Duff Gardens had the "Whiplash", an unfinished woodie, along with the Barrel Roll; the only of the Seven Duffs that were named were Tipsy, Queasy, Surly and Remorseful.
On a related note, one of my favorite Simpsons is Itchy and Scratchy Land ("The Violentest Place on Earth") - one of the "Lands" in the park is "Unnecessary Surgery Land". That is also packed with swipes at Walt Disney, his politics and policies, some pretty vicious (like the lines "He - Ralph Meyers Sr., the Walt Disney-like creator - loved almost all the children of the world" and once made a film called "Nazi Superman are Our Superiors"). Just one of several occassions on which the Simpsons link Disney and Hitler.
Sorry guys, I like South Park better.

Whoa, that's not get into one of these arguments, they tend to disappear. BTW I love the simpsons, one of the most cleverly made shows.
