The REAL record holder

OK, with Six Flags's announcement of Scream, and their declaring of their coaster, thrill ride, and amusement park superiority, who does Guinness ACTUALLY consider the park with the most operational coasters? And how many? I don't want the opinionated answer I just want to know the real park.

When is the last time that Flashback was operating? I don't think a SBNO coaster should count in the totals.
I was at SFMM in March of this year and rode it. Since I'm from Ohio, I had to ride it even though I heard it was painful. My opinion of it, it was not thrilling and it did hurt my shoulder blades.

Wow, you have to be the only Ohioan to ride Flashback. I don't think I know of any people around here who have actually been on it.

I would think that if Guinness lists the record at all they'd list Magic Mountain, since their rides have been there for quite some time prior to Wicked Twister's opening. Since both parks will likely open the rides close to each other in the spring, perhaps they'll share the record. Actually, either way I'm sure they'll share the record.

In the latest edition of the Guiness Book of Records, both SFMM and CP are listed as jointly holding the record for most rollercoasters in one park. I would imagine that it will be the same next year.

On a different note, this all seems fair at the moment because both parks have 2 kiddie coasters. Imagine the arguments that will develop when one or the other first decides to add another kiddie coaster!

Granted, I'm not a true Ohioan (Michigander by birth), but my drivers license says OH now and I've been on Flashback.

My older brother, who now lives in Phoenix but is from Ohio, went with me back in March. So the tally is up to 3 Ohioians who rode Flashback. Who knows, we may go back to SFMM this coming Spring since we didn't get a chance to see Will & Grace as we wanted to this past March. We missed the taping by 2 people (waited 4 hours in line), so we got the "green card", which gives us priority seating. Glenn Close was the reason we didn't get a chance to see back then because she invited everyone beneath the moon.

I just don't get the Flashback episode. I was there way back in 99 and it was the same way. It wasn't even operating even though it was March, and the waterpark was closed! I'm glad I rode it when it was Z-Force. As long as it's at SFMM it will probably be closed whenever I'm there.

I'm an Ohioan, I've been to SFMM twice and still no Flashback. Worse, no Goliath.... also shut down. :(

A day is a drop of water in the ocean of eternity. A week is seven drops.

I have been to SFMM 8 times or so, and every time Flashback was running. Given that I have only ridden it probably 3 times, it was indeed running.

I have been there 3 times and No Flashback :( Still no X and still no Psyclone either :( Oh and still no other side of Collusus or Left side of Superman ;)

Haunted Ohio Parks...you've been warned!!

Well I think I am one of two Missourians that have ridden Flashback. I was quite surprised that it was open when I was there. :)

Flashback can be a tough credit to get for out of towners. There is the rule where it can't run when the waterpark is open, and it also seems to be a target on days when the Mountain is low on employees. Since it's not popular even when the park is packed, they'd rather staff X/Goliath/etc. then waste two employees over there. Makes sense to me, but then I've been on it.

Same story with me. Flashback is running everytime I'm at the park. It's just that I don't ride it.

Well, in my 1 visit to the park not only was Flashback not open, Psyclone and Viper were also closed. As well as having to look at a basically finished Deja Vu all day. At least I got a load of rides on Goliath and Riddler.

so, they can SHARE the record if they want to, but there is ONE coaster left for me at CP (Jr. Gemini)...and at "the Mountain" there's two. Goliath Jr., which for me makes it *a draw* at fifteen rideable....until you take into account the fact that Flashback, er Z-Force, whatever the name of THAT statue is now, is really for all intents, SBNO. So, for me at least, CP has one more that is *rideable*....

Bass, I should beat you senseless for that comment - (I just want ONE ride on it).....but then again, you may already BE senseless, so that would be a waste of my precious coaster-riding time...that sucker is SBNO, rcdb says so, and I *certainly* would have to agree....3 trips to SoCal, AND I got to *see* it at SFoG....argh!

edit: getting to see the "test runs" on Flashback on the last trip, that was just plain "salt in the open wound" time....

I must be lucky: One trip to SFMM - one ride on Flashback.

I did miss Ninja, though.

chris, I'll trade ya. I got Ninja rides to SPARE, every trip to the Mountain....perhaps they want you to come back SO bad they make sure not everything is running at once...;). Ninja is basically Top Gun at PKI with some COOL runs down the mountainside and THROUGH the hydroflume....it's a suspended that goes UNDER water three times...lol.

---happily senseless!

I haven't had a coherent thought since 1/17/01, my last ride on Trashedback.

Same here, 1 trip out and Ninja was closed. I didn't think it was a big loss since I have ridden Top Gun and The Bat (in it's glory days).
