The 'Real' Millennium Force?

Upon my very first look at the official CP rendering and the track length (6595'), the first thought that popped into my head was, "Awww, why didn't they add a 250+ft hill after the drop & another helix or two?? Say a left-hand helix on the island, as to make a 'three leaf clover.' That would make Millennium Force the longest coaster in the world." Yup, you got it, like SD2K.

Please don't get me wrong, MF looks like a brilliant ride, with a non-traditional Hyper/Giga layout. Let's say MF had a similar layout to SD2K, would that be better or not? What do you fellow Buzzers think?

I couldn't agree with you more. I'm kind of mad that the first Giga in America has only 4 moments of airtime. As well as keeping the original layout, a very tall (250 ft) hill, and then the over banked turn, after the first drop would be cool as well as a Goliath-like helix after the bunny hop.

You must understand Cedar Point's space. It had to turn because if it didn't, it would be running into frontier trail. And from what I see, by making those turns, the roller coaster can only get up to that 182ft hill. The three leaf clover is a good Idea, but it goes back to space. There are rides in the way.

For all the CP'er out there, I am not saying Cedar Point has a space problem

People...Millennium Force was not built for airtime. I dont know why people cant accept that?

Who cares. The ride is what it is. How it relates to other rides doesn't matter. I'll be riding it again on May 6 anyway.

When CP builds the first Teracoaster in the world, I'll shut up! :)
I like how Millennium Force's layout is different from most coasters. Why do you think it recieves all the praise it does. It must be a great ride. Sure, the 300-ft. drop is great, but the rest of the ride must be good too, otherwise it wouldn't be as popular as it is.

I think Hypersonic:XLC is proving that a coaster only needs one good element to receive praise, so I'm not sure your arguement hold up too well. Anyway, Millie is a great coaster just the way it is. If you want a coaster with more airtime, walk across the park and ride Magnum. I appreciate that Mille gives a different type of ride (even if it isn't my favorite steel).

Am I the only one here who thinks that MF had awesome airtime?? I floated the whole way down the first drop, and then on the "Magnum Hill" I didn't touch my seat the whole way over! Same goes for the 2nd bunny hop. Not to mention the little, but powerful hop near the station. I think it's a great, fast, airtime-filled ride.

I remember describing MF to some ACErs during CoasterMania ERT as a great ride, but not a coaster with much airtime. When we got back in line after their first ride, they looked at me as if I was crazy and asked, "What do you mean, no airtime?? There was PLENTY of air!"

Bottom line: If you think repeatedly slamming your knees into a lapbar is airtime, you won't get it on MF. If you perceive floating gently off your seat as airtime, you'll get your fair share of air.

Keep in mind, that CP didn't wan't to build another Magnum.
Magnum is all about airtime, Mill Force is all about speed and height

The way I see it, it is the Magnum of today. They were both built to be tall, fast, and fun!

I think that Millennium Force is special because of the layout. Yes, that's right the layout. I mean CP had to work with what they had, so that would probably knock out the Magnum design. If you look at the layout of the ride, you can see that it is shaped like a T. One of the coolest parts of the ride is the lift. The new lift system is really cool, and innovative. Millennium Force is another world class roller coaster. Yet again CP has pushed coasters to a whole new level.

For me the airtime was incredible on Millennium Force. Once thing I don't hear people talking about though is the turns. I think that turn into the tunnel after the first overbank is awesome. I mean, good grief, you are going almost 90 miles per hour and you hit that turn without going up to lose any momentum.

CoastaPlaya, the first giant camel back ejected me from my seat, and I didn't touch the seat again until we got to the very bottom of the hill. I don't call that just "floating.";)

I think we have had too long of a break and we all need to ride it again! Your opinions might change after you once again pull into the station at the end, because by now all of us has forgotten exactly how intense and overwhelming MF really is. I'll bet every person here will be taken by surprise when you experience the first drop on opening day!
I agree with both the coaster is just the way it is its a great ride and its my 2nd favorite steel coaster. sd 2k Isb a whole different coaster does whats a teracoaster

The next milestone, 400+ft tall. :)

My bad, I'd totally forgotten about Magnum. Yup, if MF were like SD2K, it'd just be a bigger version of a pre-existing coaster.
